First color film?

what was it? And I don't mean hand-colored or tinted. What was the first feature to be shot on color film? Was it The Adventures of Robin Hood(1938)?

Thanks,

Dan

It's older than you think. A 1922 feature called "The Toll of the Sea" was the first two-strip technicolor movie. This movie is available on DVD in a box-set called Treasures from American Film Archives.

The first three-strip or full technicolor movie was a costume drama called Becky Sharp in 1935. (This movie appears on cable occasionally)
