i saw it tonight and was pretty suprised i was excited but i was thinking in ym mind this movie will suck.i still saw it.the critics are under rating it just cause it is cliched.i would give this movie a 6 or 7 on a scale from 1-10 some parts were a little scary but nothin compared to the ring still a great pg-13 horror it was kinda liek a suspensful slasher movie it reminded me of 3 movies compiled blair witch, nightmare on elm street, and they.but they sucked it sucked for me because there were like 5-10 girls laughing and talking threw the whole movie i yelled SHUT UP GOD DAMN IT!! it shut them up for a few minutes but it was still a good movie.

I believe that I'm safe in saying that Emma would be relieved to find out that you didn't find her hot. I know that I am.

Well, for the record, I find Emma Caulfield very hot.

And about the movie, which I just caught a few hours back, I realy liked it. It's not original, it doesn't spend a lot of time examing the characters motivations and backstories, but it doesn't need to.....these are completely stock character that you can read within a few minutes. And the plot isn't very original, a pastiche of the horror genre within the past few years....think Nightmare on Elm Street, Blair Witch, Pitch Black, They, etc.

But I expected all that, what I wanted was a movie that was able to give me some good cheap late January thrills and scares and at that its extremely effective and really enjoyable. I could see why film critics wouldn't like, but I would think that anyone here who went in with an open mind (oops, that rules out 75% of you :)) and the right expectations would enjoy it too.

The phrase "You should go in with an open mind", is just another way of saying "You should make yourself tolerate crappy movies".

dude its number 1 in the box office theys said if it does well there making a series of tooth fairy movies this will be cool.

I thought the movie had a decent premise and a good first 10 minutes... then they completely dropped the ball. I can deal with cardboard characters, but this was ridiculous. Not to mention, the sloppy editing (bad ADR and half the time it was almost impossible to tell what was going on)... and then, the Tooth Fairy reveal...which wasn't half as cool as the McFarlane Toy that has been on the market for a while... I think this movie completely sucked, and I really really wanted to like it... if they do make a sequel, hopefully it's more coherent and has a few scares....

Or it means, "I decided this movie would suck when I heard it was going into production and even though I haven't seen it, I'm sticking by my uneducated guess."

just watched it.

not scary.

movies that rely mostly on dogs and cats jumping from out of nowere and loud music cues, when someone comes from behind a door, to be scary , arent scary.

this was all this movie had. especially the loud music cues every 5 minutes.
alot of thunderclaps too.

more annoying then scary.

Bumped because of the the 90s to now horror film thread.

First saw this a while back on Netflix, then again on there tonight. Not great by any means, but a decent guilty pleasure, and certainly much better than a 9% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which gave crap like "You're Next" a 75% fresh rating, or heck, The Human Centipede a 49% fresh rating. Another reason I rely on regular folks like yourselves than most so-called film critics. The fact that this movie has a short running time doesn't hurt either. I was surprised to find out the lead actor died some years back from sleep apnea.

I always thought Emma Caulfield was under-rated in the SEXY dept
