YAY! more bullet time. It amazes me that folks still believe that the matrix created that effect.

All matrix did was put it to some good use.

Though I really enjoyed the matrix, saw it at WB studio lot before it was released, I just don't see the point for the writer to state any comment about matrix and star wars.

Star Wars is all about Crayons these days but theres nothing at the center of the movies anymore, just colors.

I cant wait for the Matrix movies.

Nonsense! That's maybe why YOU bought them - blind devotion to the first trillogy. I on the other hand got them because they were pretty kick ass movies.

In my view, effective utilization of innovation is often better than innovation itself. Citizen Kane didn't invent deep focus photography just as The Wild Bunch didn't invent slow motion, but the importance of these films in terms of the development of the two techniques is seminal.

"Yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should."
- Dr. Ian Malcolm, commenting on the CGI of SW 1 & 2

That statement about Matrix 2-3 personally excited me. As I said after seeing the first Matrix, I'm more excited about the Matrix trilogy than SW 1-3.

The Matrix did not overuse CGI, the way SW I & II did. It was a better way to tell the story, rather than being the focus of the story.

I was already really excited about the Matrix sequals, I just hope it doesn't pull a Phantom Menace where the hype is so big that theres no way the actual movie can come close to the hype.

The same could be said for fans of the Matrix. I enjoyed the Matrix(I have the DVD), but not to the extent that some do. If Lucas had come out and proclaimed that Episode III's effects would wipe the floor with the Matrix sequels, Matrix fanboys would have there panties in a bunch.

I do think it's a little unprofessional to call out another movie specifically (regardless of how good you think it may or may not be).

I for one was surprised to find out that every clone trooper In AOTC was CGI. Not one of 'em is a guy in a suit. That's pretty darn good to me.

that is what i disliked about the movie, it was very easy to distinguish the CGI characters from the rest. especially the scenes were there were thousands, it was impressive in the TPM with the battle droids, but looked rather fake with the clone troppers in AOTC, especially the scenes with thousands of them!

The same could be said for fans of the Matrix.
You have a semi-valid point, but the Matrix 2/3 is only pulling on the fan base from the Matrix, which is a relatively new movie.

EP 1/2 was pulling on a fan base that had been established over 20+ years since the Trilogy was originally released, re-released, and re-re-released. You also have all the spinoffs, from books, PC games, Toys, etc...

EP 1/2 did not have to put forth near as much effort (plot line) to pull off the media "hat trick"

Matrix 2/3 on the other hand will have a much larger fight ahead.

I would agree with another poster, in some ways it is very difficult to compare the Matrix and SW.

Agreed...Star Wars? Who cares...though we are deeply in the minority at this place...I'm not even a big Matrix fan, but these sequels should be---hopefully---pretty good.
