Can't say I would be doing anything different if I were him. A paycheck is a paycheck.

Se7en 2: The IMDb reports that Morgan Freeman's character William Somerset will return and matches wits with a psychically endowded serial killer, however Pitt will not return - "bosses think they have the right script now. Brad's character will be mentioned, but he will not appear. He will be in a mental hospital".

I know Se7en wasn't the first "cops looking for a serial killer" movie, but it was still kinda original in its own way. With the popularity of that and SIlience, there was just a lot of hollywood knockoffs. I mean, Bone Collector,Kiss the Girls, Resurrection, and Copycat(actually came out before Seven though), just to name a few. And i actually liked some of these. But to do a sequel to such a unique film would be kinda dumb.
