Very Cool Pirates of the Caribbean and The Haunted Mansion Posters

After watching The Santa Clause 2 on Christmas Eve I saw the Pirates poster in the lobby and loved it. While looking for the poster to buy I came across the other movie based on a ride, The Haunted Mansion and it also has a very cool poster. Check them out;

to bad the movies look like they are going to blow

(No offense, and hell I haven't even seen the trailers to these movies, but really after going on both rides for years, what story can you really put on them without having them become cheesy?)

While I think Haunted Mansion will blow goats...

PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN will RULE.

This is going to be THE movie to see next summer. It has a great cast, and quite obviously from the teaser and poster, they have captured the dark tone of the ride... also, I have faith that Gore Verbinski can make an entertaining picture, especially since I think he really just found his stride with The Ring.... I think Pirates is going to rule.

Yeah, I don't know what to think about Haunted Mansion, but I wouldn't dimiss Pirates of the Caribbean quite some quickly. I saw a teaser for it before The Two Towers, and it looks like it could be alot of fun. Great cast too.

Ain't It Cool News posted some production art for The Haunted Mansion. Looks pretty cool.

The only problem is that the film stars Eddie Murphy, and is supposed to be about a workaholic father who learns the true meaning of family after spending time in the mansion.

Why oh why is Disney making movies from Rides at Disneyland.
As if The Country Bears is not bad enough.
I knew they needed money but these films are not the way to do it.
How about releasing Song of the South or the Herbie Movies.
The person who greenlighted these movies should be fired.

Agreed. Word! What kind of a movie can you get from a theme park ride?Did'nt Disney learn anything from "The Country Bears" last summer?

It looks like they are getting desperate for movie ideas at Disney Studios. I guess Disney did not learn from last summer's "The Country Bears".is the person who is greenlighting these films Michael Eisner or someone else?anyone know?

I actually enjoyed The Country Bears, the music was great, so I'll give these two a chance. I love pirate movies and Pirates of the Caribbean has some great talent so hopefully it will be good. As for The Haunted Mansion, as long as they can make it goofy and spooky, like the ride, I'll probably like it though I'm not getting my hopes up for it like I am for Pirates.

Why all the bad mouthing The Country Bears? One of my favorite family films of the year. It was kind of surreal and funny and had some great music. I get the feeling that most of the people who love to rip on it didn't see it.

As for Pirates of the Caribbean, I will give it a chance. I usually love Johnny Depp and him just being in the movie is more than enough for me. Add Orlando Bloom and Geoffrey Rush in the mix and I am there opening weekend.

Saw a teaser for Pirates at LOtR:tTT. Peaked my interest. I'll definitely be checking it out.

Haunted Mansion on the other hand...

Checked out the AICN link that Ghostface180 posted. The production art looks FANTASTIC. Unfortunately, like I said HERE Disney should've fleshed out the story that the ride is based on. Instead, we get Eddie Murphy. Not that I don't like him, i'm just not too impressed if that's truly what the story's going to be. But i'll still probably check it out.

Maybe.

Pirates looks like it can be real good to me. Who cares if the name is taken from a ride. The trailer was intriguing, the poster looks awesome, and its got a great cast.

For what it's worth, I hated The Ring and think Gore Verbinski a talentless hack who has a "gimme" approach to his projects....probably went to film school!
