Gods and Generals

There is a trailer for it on www.apple.com/trailers It's based on the book by Stephen Ambrose who also wrote Killer Angels. Anyone else interested in it?

I am looking forward to seeing it, does anyone know what the running time of this film is? I thought I remember reading somewhere it's around the same length as Gettysburg (261 minutes), if not longer.

According to the December issue of Civil War Times magazine director Maxwell is quoted as saying "So at some point in the distant future, a six hour version of GG may be made available on DVD, but [for the theatrical release] I'm comfortable with a three hour and five minute length."

Had to correct this. Michael Shaara wrote the Killer Angels (turned into the film, Gettysburg). His son Jeff wrote Gods and Generals.

You're right. Don't know why I thought Stephen Ambrose who wrote Red Badge of Courage wrote Gods and Generals.
