Saw "The Core" Preview today

saw a preview before Star Trek Nemesis for a new movie called, The Core. Sci Fi movie reminisent of At the Earts Core about the core of the Earth stopping roatation so they gotta go fix it.

Cool Special Effects and looks much more entertaining than Armaggedon.

Anyone else see the preview?

Saw it too with Star Trek Nemesis on Friday.

Looks good. Sure reminds me of Armageddon.

Yeah, it looks like it should be good for a laugh and some popcorn value. There hasn't been a big budget, destruction of the world type movie in a while.

"We need to jump-start the planet."
"That's impossible."
"But what if we could?"

"How much do you need?"
"Fourteen billion dollars."
"Will you take a check?"

"You want me to hack the planet? OK, I'll need Star Trek tapes and Hot Pockets."

Sorry, sounds dismal to me. I'm actively avoiding this one.

That line alone might make the movie worth $5.00. It got the biggest laugh since the preview was shown before Nemesis. I know this movie has been delayed for awhile but I might check it out.

From what I have read it was delayed due to the congestion of this Holiday season and because they wanted more time to do the effects..
Look on the bright side, at least its not from Brucheimer.

I'll probably check it out. I'm just glad to see movies like this being released after September 11th. I thought the days of blowing up landmarks all over the world in movies was over. These types of movies never win any awards, but they are fun popcorn movies.

I saw this preview last night. I leaned over to my friend and said "Why do they keep making crap like this?" Oh, look I can do special effects, let's destroy the world again and throw in some cheesy acting!

I saw it before Nemesis as well and thought that it looked like Volcano, with which I was less than impressed. I can see why they delayed this movie from the fall.

Hilary Swank: are you out to destroy your Oscar prestige totally?

The Core = Armageddon going in the opposite direction

You can count me out on this one. The premise is unbelievably stupid, and I already know how the entire movie is going to pan out.

"The core of the earth has stopped spinning. Hey, I gots an idea, let's drill to the center of the earth and detonate a nuclear explosion!"

No it was Star Trek. The preview was attached to Nemesis, so I assume that is why Paramount added the Star Trek line to the trailer.

The version in front Nemisis when I saw it said "kung fu" tapes, as well. I thought the trailer looked horrid ... porno for those who like to see landmarks demolished.

This spring, everything gets ... Blow'd UP!

Was this intentionally funny? I spent the entire 3 minutes .

I think i'd rather watch a Rob Schneider movie...

Pass.

Any bets on how many millions of dollars this will make opening weekend? If the masses can spend $19 million on Maid in Manhattan, and $25 million on Jackass, then this should bring in at least $400 billion.

We couldn't stop laughing at this trailer. Before it even really got started it was already horrible. The first line of the trailer said how goofy it was going to be:

"It was a secret government program, known as project destiny"

And then the Token Scientist with the French Accent!

This might actually make "Left Behind" look like a good movie.

"UNTIL SOMETHING WENT WRONG...."

How much you want to bet it ends with someone or a group of people giving their lives to save humanity?

Ha! There was a dramatic pause right before this line and I actually said, out loud in my best dramatic voice, "Until something went wrong", not expecting them to actually use the most predictable and cheesy line possible. Well, they did. I burst out laughing. I'm sure everyone else thought I had already seen it and that I was a jerk.

I'm amazed that this kind of movie has such a great cast. Hopefully they'll be able to elevate it out of the Armageddon area (which shouldn't be that tough), and make it a decent popcorn flick.

Armageddon was a decent popcorn flick. This movie just looks ridiculous. I saw the preview a long while ago, awful, really awful.

Yeah, there was a trailer for this out months and months ago, and it looked unbelievably crappy then also.
