STAR WARS animated series !!!

According to aintitcoolnews.com and various other web sources Cartoon Network will produce an animated series called THE CLONE WARS tenitively to air about a year before Episode 3. The events in the animated series will act as a bridge between Episode 2 and 3. This is the best news for Star Wars fans since the Prequel Trilogy was first announced.

If done right it's the best news (reported last week) if done wrong... Ooooh the horror.

I mean come on, we have all been picturing this "clone war" since ANH and now we get to see it. I doubt our expectations can really be met unless this is the second coming.

I'm sure the jedi knights will have to hunt down and find all the "mini-jedi" power cubes to gain powers and team up together..

I've been saying for a while that a Star Wars animated series/feature could really put animation for "adults" over the top in this country.

Now the whole thing is that it was to GOOD!! We can't have a repeat of something like Droids ( remember that?). There's alot of potential here, let's hope they don't screw this up.

You're forgetting, Star Wars is for kids.

Ha ha, no kidding, an animated star wars series would just nail it in some more that it's for geeks and kids.

We're not going to get an adult oriented animated star Wars series anymore then we're going to get offically released Harry Potter porn.

That said, all the other movies have been for kids, and I've liked them, so maybe I'll like the animted series. I doubt it though, and think it's rather a stupid idea.

I don't know who's going to be working on it though, so I really don't know.

Really, I thought they were for a general audience.

Jason... Lucas states that they're mainly for kids and young teenagers. While, yes, obviously, a General Audiance will enjoy them.

What I'm trying to say is that anyone who's expecting an anime styled show is going to be greatly disapointed, the most adult this would probably be would be like X-Men Evolution. Though I'd like to hope it would at least be as adult as Batman: TAS... I know that's very unlikely.

Hmmm... after seeing Droids and Ewok Adventures I find it a little hard to get enthused about this.

I sincerely doubt that's what Lucas would have said 25 years ago. He was going for the general audience, not a select audience between 10-19.

That being said, Lucas does have a "kid friendly" mentality these days, so I can't imagine a cartoon being geared towards a general audience. But then again, if he did his homework and realized that his largest fanbase is between the ages of 20-35, he may well want to gear it towards that market.

But based on TPM and AOTC, he obviously didn't do his homework... so...

He wasn't saying that 25 years ago. AOTC certainly has elements that aren't kid friendly. They are family films pure and simple. This "for kids" bull is just that. Bull.

Funny, I thought ATTACK OF THE CLONES was a cartoon.....
Funny, I expected you to thread fart in here.

In all truths, Star wars is suppose to be a saturday morning cereal show/movie. Enjoyable for the whole family. the thought that they would make a cartoon more adult geared is like expecting Episode III to be rated something more then PG-13.

Well Terrell, I'm just going on what he says in interviews. I've heard him say he wonders about the fans over 20, and how they'd be disapointed because the films are not aimed at them, they're primarly kids movies.

I guess you could use family film and kids film as meaning the same thing depending on your definition. I would. Most Disney films are kids movies and family movies...

Just because Fett gets decapitated or there's a political subplot doesn't mean kids don't like that kind of stuff... I did as a kid... I wish I saw more decapitiations :P Bare in mind, I'm not saying it's BAD because of this, just that people shouldn't think it'll be geared at an older audiance because this series never has been.
