The concept of the movie has me interested, but I fear that if I go and see the movie it will be along the lines of Titan A.E. and Atlantis; all visuals with shallow script and predictable story. I realize the same could be said for many other movies, but with animated films, especially those from Disney, I expect a little more in terms of characters.
I thought both of the films above were solid to a point, but overall they left me disappointed. I doubt a space aged version of Treasure Island will do any different.

I have always that it is funny that Disney will use public domain books/stories to base they movie on, but they keep pushing congress to pass laws to keep all of their charters/stories out of public domain.

From what I hear some of the earlier Disney stuff is going to become public domain in the next year or two.
