This may be old news, but in the next several months disney will release theatrically (not strait to video) The Jungle Book 2 and A Piglet Movie (Whinie the Pooh). When will it end?

It is old news, and these will probably be minor league films. Therefore, while they'll probably disappointing, who is expecting much from them?
And I can't really blame Disney for doing this, since they pay so little to trumpet these films (think of how easy it is for them to pop TV spots on ABC, ABC Family, ESPN, or DVDs), and they earn an easy $50 million...plus the money they're bound to make on video.
I'm more offended by The Jungle Book 2, since Winnie the Pooh has always been a series of adventures, it seems. And The Tigger Movie was actually pretty good, so maybe this one won't be so bad. JB2 looks pretty awful, though.

I seem to remember that Kipling himself wrote a few Jungle Book adventures?
Besides, I think the main reason Disney is releasing things like this and Return to Neverland (that would usually be DTV) is so that they're A-List titles are sure to qualify for the best animated film Oscar. I believe there has to be a certain number of animated films released each year to qualify the category.
Hey Disney, want to release some more stuff to theaters? I got two (misspelled) words for you: Hayao Miyazaki.

What I can't understand is that, as with Cinderella, which also got a "sequel," TJB won't be available for several years.
Why release a DTV "sequel" when the original isn't even available to do cross-promotion with?

Because with disney, it's not about dvd sales or making money or cross-promotion... it's all about the quality of the film...Originally posted by Drexl
