Why Bernie Mac instead of Bill Murray in new Charlies Angel movie?
Why? Can someone explain to me why they hired Bernie Mac and not Bill Murray?

Rucy Ru is a real C, if you know what I mean, and like everyone else on earth who has met her, Murry immediately loathed her. But because Bill Murray is the untalented one he got the boot, because let's face it Bill Murray is a hack compared to the irreplaceable tallent that is Lucy Lu. I mean you can't replace talent like that. She's so distinct. She does things no other actress has ever done. She's so much better than that hack Bill Murray. Who would want to see him in a movie anyway? God forbid their be any ACTUAL COMEDIANS starring in you're campy send-up of a campy-send up.
On a less sarcastic note, I really do like Bernie Mac, but he'll probably suck in this because they'll obliterate his part in the editing room the same way they did Murray.

And let's face it.... "Charlie's Angels" is about T&A , NOT Bill's humor.
Bernie Mac will do well.

With fast paced MTV style editing, I really disliked the first one for just about everything except for murry's role in it. Sorry, If I want to see some T&A I'll just throw on some porn compared to this tease of a movie.

I got to say, if you are going to replace Murray you might as well go all out and get somebody crazy like Bernie Mac. Its better than them trying to hire Steve Martin or somebody and pass him off as the same character.

It was in the papers and on the internet everywhere that Liu and Murray didnt get along.Where you been hiding Gizmo?
She was the last choice for the original because no one else wanted to do it and then...(No and then) it became a HIT.
I much would have rather have seen Murray than Mack but ...
Thanks Lucy.

Hopefully it will be his step brother, or he was adopted.

Think Jurassic Park 2 and Jeff Goldblum's Black daughter.....

I actually liked the trailer.
And I think it was clever the way McG introduced Bernie Mac as the new Bossley.
I am not a fan of McG's work, but this movie might change my mind.
some interesting quotes from a dvdtalk interview with McG
'You know, it sounds odd, you'd expect someone to say, "Oh, you know, I'm a Sydney Pollack maniac" or something. I'm really a Spike Jones maniac and a David Fincher maniac. '
'You know I had a conversation once with Quentin Tarantino and he told me something very interesting. He was like "Look, if you take something that everyone is familiar with and you twist it becomes your own."'

Maybe Bill actually SAW the movie and decided he'd rather not be in that kind of thing. I'd probably kill myself or at least donate all the money I made from it to charity, then do a talk show circuit telling everyone not to see it.

I personally found it embarrasing to see Murray in what I consider to be one of the worst movies of all time. This is not to mention the pain of seeing the promising Sam Rockwell in the same tripe. Hopefully they really didn't know what the movie would turn out to be when they signed on.
But for replacements in a movie that will most likely be a carbon copy of the first, Mac is a fine choice. He'll most likely be the only funny part of the film just as Murray was from the first one.
Lucy Liu? Please. My friends and I literally could not help giggling whenever she spoke in the movie. Her deliveries of the "technical" dialogue were so poor it was indeed laughable.
To sum up, I'm REALLY happy that Murray has distanced himself from the sequel.

Murray never wanted to do CA in the first place. There were a lot of stories about how he kept turning them down and eventually they got him with a dump truck full of money (that's integrity, Bill). Personally, while I really enjoyed CA and thought it was one of the few films with MTV-editing done right (a discussion for another time), no one in the cast was irreplaceable. You could've replaced the girls with any trio of sexy, outgoing chicks and you'd have had the same result. Murray was pretty good, but didn't add much to the film on the whole and probably not worth the millions they paid him. I doubt he was much of a draw to the target audience either.
Also, Pants...
Way to go with the "Rucy Ru" stuff. You're a class act. What's next? Refer to her as the yellow peril?

--Yeah, that's a totally racist remark and the fact that your making fun of Japanese people and not Lucy Liu who is Chinese shows your ignorance.
