The Corrections by Jonathan Franzen

a great disfunctional family novel with razor-sharp wit
and an overall edge to the characters

I agree with Rage and the fact that it is too controversial to be made.
with all the school shootings that have happened in the past few years, I don't think anyone would touch this movie with a ten foot poll.

I vote for The Mayfair Witch series by Anne Rice. There is also The Sleeping Beauty trilogy that she wrote under the name A.N. Roquelaure...but I think that would have to be done by the porn industry.

Hell yes!

That movie would have to be split into two 3.5 hour movies.

I think Sick Puppy would make a funny movie if the right people did it...that book was absolutely hilarious.

anything by Michael Connelly w/ the Harry Bosch character. I'd also like to see The Westing Game made into a movie.

After seeing several Stephen King novels mentioned here, I'm a little surprised to see that no one has mentioned my favorite non-filmed work by King.....Gerald's Game. It may be too dark to film, plus 3/4 of the film would include a semi-nude woman tied to a bed. Hey...maybe thats a reason to film after all!

I'm looking forward to this one as well, here's some info from the IMDB: http://us.imdb.com/Title?0300556

I don't know if it's imdb error but it looks like they've changed the sex of a couple of charachters.
