snatch, as a film, not a DVD...
having an argument with a dear friend of mine, who refused to watch more than 20 minutes of it....
i won't state my opinion, just rate the movie between 1 and 10, 10 being the best....

Just checked my excel spreadsheet (geekalert!) and I gave it a solid 8 (out of 10). Very good, holds up on repeated viewings as well.
And before you ask, I also gave Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (also by Guy Ritchie) an 8 as well. That one had me rolling with laughter at the end.

Hmmmm...Id give it a 4. I didn't really like it, but it had a good beat. Despite some good performances, I found it as boring as LS&2SG. In fact, in many ways, Snatch just seemed like a betterr executed remake of Ritche's previous movie.

But I liked Lock Stock and liked Snatch too. Funny movie.
But since this thread has nothing to do with the (very nice) DVD, moving to Movie Talk.

LS&2SB 8.0
Snatch 6.5
Although LS&2SB looks amateurish at times, it manages to keep a refreshing, energetic tone throughout. Snatch uses the same formula but the novelty has worn off, despite the better execution.

I'd rate snatch as a 8.0, slightly below Lock, stock, and Two Smoking Barrels which I'd put at a 8.5. They are very similar though. But I found both to be hilarious.

9 There's something about the charachters, bad or good you love 'em all.
"Do you know what nemesis means. . . A righteous infliction of retribution manifested by an appropriate agent. Personified in this case by an 'orrible *u**. Me."

I give it a 6, and Lock, Stock an 8. Snatch was a little too ambitious, I didn't think Ritchie pulled it off (the car scene near the end was well done, though). Too many characters, and a plot that was too confusing no matter how many times I watched it (about 5). It just felt like he was treading water.

'eh, here goes. I give Snatch an 8.5 and LS&2SB a 6.
mind you, I saw Snatch first, was refreshing and entertaining. LS&2SB I rented a week later, seemed very similar only lower budget and far slower/less comedic.

Give Snatch a 9. First I saw of it was the last 45 mins. on HBO and I really liked it. Liked it even more once I saw the whole thing, esp. Vinnie Jones character. Still haven't watched LockStock yet, even though I bought it 2 months ago.
