I have the "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" poster too, which is just beautiful. Also got "Vertigo", "Breakfast at Tiffany's", and "Eraserhead". Having seen that "Metropolis" poster, I now must have it.
And while I'm thinking about it, why oh why wasn't the original art for "Out of Sight" used for the DVD? Oh that's right, 'cause the ones in charge are soulless arses with no artistic sense.

Wow! What an awsome bunch of posters!
I need some horizontal ones, unfortunately so few movie posters come that way. I'm going to pick up a Casablanca poster and maybe Ferris Beuler.
Those polish posters were bizzare and incredible!
Wish I had more space to hang these things up. I think I'll I hang posters on a rotating basis.

If you have some money, go on eBay a try to get a classicmovie; posters are an investment. I, personaaly, would not get a poster of some person or figure, but an authentic (no replicas). I have one, minted and framed, hanging on my wall. Due some research on collecting and preserving a poster. a little effort and you could have an awesome conversational piece. Cult movies have posters worth a lot, but get one you will enjoy, and, please, get it framed, either by you or professional, NO THUMB TACKS! Framed posters have a striking image about them, you can get some inexpensive ones or go all out. Come and see (figuretively speaking) my minted, framed, Queen of the Damned and Frankenstein meets Wolfman ('43 original), you'll be awed

Mox, I'm curious about the price on framing as well. I've just bought an original double sided A.I. poster (the black with silver lettering) and would like to frame it (myself or by someone else) for a decent price.

I have six posters framed now and I go to a local framing shop. It usually costs me around 65-70 bucks per poster...I have yet to find prefabricated frames for 27" x 40" movie posters...whereever you do go make sure that they use glass and not plexiglass, because it does not look as good and does not hold up as well, framing places in shopping malls are known for this and their quality is not near as good as a good local framemaker.

I'm clueless on how to paste pictures into these posts, but could somebody take display the poster to "Secretary". It's a 2002 movie, and I saw the poster on Dark Horizons.
The poster alone makes me want to own the movie!

I have that Almost Famous one at my parents house rolled up. I picked it up from a video store for 50c. Didn't even know what it was, just picked a bunch and bought them.
Only problem is my parents live in another country. I'll have to get them to ship it over.

Spike Jonze & Mulder,
Sorry guys for the delay. I rarely post at this forum and browse it about as often. Just read your replies now.
I had all my posters framed at the same custom framing shop here in B.C., Canada. If you want specifics and are in this area let me know. The place has fantastic pricing and can't be beat.
The pricing goes:
$39.95 for basic framing up to 24"x36"
Oversized faming charge of $10.00 because the posters are 27"x41"
Custom frame upgrade (black metal frame) additional $15.00 Which you don't have to get. They have 3 other colors available for free but black isn't one of them. The $15.00 gets you into a choice of about 50 different colors and styles of metal frames.
So total per poster for me was $64.95 CAD (about $42.00 USD) which is awesome. Everywhere else (at least 4 or 5 places) I called, quoted me between $120 and $150 each for the same framing job. Same process, same glass, same frame.
I did what a lot of collector's wouldn't also, but it was better for me. I had them all dry mounted on foamcore board. The posters tend to sag over time if you don't, but this really lowers their resale value. I don't intend to sell them though and they are for display only. The dry mounting is included in the price above.
The posters are all framed in 2 MIL glass BTW. I didn't UV protect them iether as they are not in direct sunlight. I have 3 others that are about 10 years old with the same framing and they haven't faded a stitch.
Here's a better shot of Episode 1 and 2. The shop does an awesome job. I just had these two framed a few months ago. That's my wife in the picture hehe.

Mox- thanks for the reply. It's funnay as I haven't checked this forum out for a few days and now it's you that bumped it up. Those Canadian prices rock big time. I just bought a bunch of origina posters, ironically from Canada (Fight Club, AI and Minority Report) and would like to frame them. I called a few places around here in CHICAGO and they are just milking it all the way (you're right on the money with the $100+ ). So, I decided to compromise and by the frames myself (will still cost me at least $50) and do the framing myself sans the dry mounting on foam, wood or paper, at least for the time being (poor college student speaking). Thanks for the post though mate. Much appreciated. And BTW, as patriotic as I am....CANADA rules!

Mulder,
My pleasure! Goodluck with the framing! Those are some wicked posters. I especially love the pre-release of Minority Report. I wish I had more wall space!
It's funny, I checked out self framing kits here in Canada at Michael's Crafts and it was about 20 bucks more or so, to frame the posters myself than having them done at this framing shop. The Canadian dollar really bites, but overall it's a great country.
Stay cool!
