Star Wars? Obviously it did not stand the test of time since the originals are no longer available and Lucas "updated" them.
Some that I don't think have been mentioned: The Manchurian Candidate, Das Boot, Princess Bride, To Catch a Thief and West Side Story.
Obviously, it's easy to pick older movies popular today, since, well, they were tested by time.

The Shining
A truly great horror flick that is still one of the best of it's genre today.
As for "newer" movies that I'd like to see stand the test of time: True Romance and Braveheart.(even though it would more likely be Pulp Fiction than True Romance.)
