Get it for the movie, listen to the commentary...learn the evil's of the MPAA.

Stop being so cryptic! :grunt:

Are you saying some stuff had to be cut from the movie to earn it a PG-13 rating? :eyebrow:

matome 05-29-03 08:00 AM

Yep, the nude locker room scenes.

I need to listen to the commentary now.

I love this movie. Two summers ago, my cousin (12 years old) got the DVD and she kept watching it all day, everyday. Best summer ever.

Hokeyboy 05-29-03 08:55 PM

This movie gives me needs...

Darren Garrison 05-29-03 09:42 PM

Damn you. Damn you all. Now I'm going to have to watch it AGAIN.

Wait...I thought you *didn't* like the movie, or are you being sarcastic?

Anyway...Bring It On is one of my favorite blind buys...I'm kinda itching to see it again, having just watched Not Another Teen Movie's (weak) parody of it.

Ranger 05-29-03 11:54 PM

Great movie! Was there an European uncensored cut? :D

matome 05-30-03 08:30 AM

When's Bring It On...Again! coming out?

One of the male cheerleaders comments on Whitney's little sister "giving head" and the MPAA was going to make the entire film rated "R" for...i believe it was "implied sex".

inVectiVe 05-30-03 02:13 PM

I've only seen the movie on USA, and the way I recall that line was something like "She doesn't give lip." "No, only tongue!"

I guess I better buy the DVD now to get the full story. :D

Ha, that evenflowddt is not me.

When (most) people look through my dvd colletion (of almost 400) the only disc that they ever comment on is Bring It On. They never ask about titles like Stalker, the Herzog/Kinski collection, Shaolin Soccer, or the many obscure Criterions that they obviously have never heard of. But they alway have to point out Bring It On. I guess it may sort of "stick out" among my other dvds.

They'll say something along the lines of: "you own Bring It On?" in a real condesending manner that makes me want to punch them in the face - the worst part of it is that these people have never even seen BIO. They just have some preconcieved notion that it's a lame teenager movie and they judge me by it. They make absolutely no judgement based on all my Buenel, Felini and Kurosawa films, but they sure do with Bring It On.

Anyways, I'll usually just say that it's a great fun little flick and that I'm not here to *****in' impress them.

Thats the exact line that was changed.

"tounge" was supposed to be "head".

inVectiVe 05-31-03 01:47 AM

Y'know, that is pretty stupid of the MPAA. I could go into a rant about how you can show Wolverine stabbing people in the chest and still get a PG-13, yet "head" is "Under 17 not allowed!" material....

...but I'll just say I'm buying the Bring It On DVD anyway. :)

Josh-da-man 05-31-03 02:15 AM

You know, I have an absolute favorite part of this movie, Bring It On, but I'm too damned embarassed to say which part it is.

inVectiVe 05-31-03 02:35 AM

I think it's already been mentioned, but if I had to pick a fave and didn't wanna go with the stock response "every scene Eliza is in," I'd pick the toothbrushing scene. The projectile vomit was cool as well.

C'mon already, what's yours? :)

aww...you can share..we all like the movie.

We promise not to laugh.

My typical response would be "car wash scene" or "anything with Kirsten" but i kinda like the Toothbrushing scene as well.

Amel 06-04-03 05:32 PM

I absolutely love this flick. Just watched it again the other day. And even though the sole reason I went and saw it in the theatres was cause of Faith, oops, Eliza, I'd have to say my favorite scene is Gabrielle Union at the end when the cast is lip synching "Mickey" - it's hot!

Parcher 06-04-03 06:03 PM

What scares me is I read the name of the director Peyton Reed once, and have not forgotten it....

mwj 06-04-03 07:11 PM

When I saw the trailer for this movie it did not interest me that much. And I love cheerleaders. Then when the DVD came there was all this discussion about what fun, sexy movie this was and how nice the DVD edition turned out to be. I ended up buying it and loving this movie. That kind of discovery is what makes this site so valuable.

Giantrobo 06-04-03 07:18 PM

I love this movie

I just wish they would've shown more Minority asses shakin' :(

AsianImage 06-04-03 07:24 PM

and yes....GABRIELLE UNION!!! Love her...I have actually met her. She is VERY NICE..and totally gorgeous in person too.

Someone asked what else she has been in?

THE BROTHERS
TWO CAN PLAY THAT GAME

ABANDON

upcoming in BAD BOYS 2 she the love interest

Dr. DVD 06-04-03 08:20 PM

There's a scene in this movie where Kirsten and Eliza are practicing their "spirit fingers" and after leaving the scene for a bit Eliza returns and gyrates her hips in about thirty some odd directions. Great scene in movie history! :D
