Installing Exchange 2000 :(

I have 3 offices (Cleveland, Bucyrus and Cincinnati) that each need to be migrated to Ex2K. It is a one night job but I wasn't going to fly all the way from Portland 3 times. I'll have plenty of spare time to kick around. I figure the Rock-n-roll hall of fame and maybe a pro game while I am tooling around.

Recommendations?

Pro games in Cincinnati and Cleveland. R&R hall of fame is pretty cool. Lots of good places to party over at the Flats in Cleveland. Believe it or not Cleveland is a pretty cool town.

I'm going to take my camera today with me to the course, with Orange-Red. Hopefully my golfing group won't look at me too oddly. :)

I found Tumbleweed's head laying on my printer... How do I make it stick? Glue?

twikoff 08-30-03 12:06 PM

hmmmm
well... its wax right?
so I would assume you could stick it together and go lightly around the edges with a match

IdgIe49 08-30-03 01:01 PM

good idea...

my friend on IRC told me to sharpen him, i was like *gasp* no way :)

i'm just waiting for preacher to o.k. sending lots of pics to his e-mail so he can post them here. mauve and lavender had some fun. i have mauve and my friend has lavender. and i'm not sure if the pics will be suitable for the 'other' section. they may belong in 'mature' -so parental advisory is suggested. :D

IdgIe49 08-30-03 04:27 PM

 twikoff, I took your advice, and now tumbleweed looks like he's got elephantitis.

NotThatGuy 08-30-03 04:31 PM

Just got in from golf...once I shrink down the pics, I"ll post them. I decided to do the pics on the sly, because I'm already odd enough.

ps. My golf game is so fickle! I was hitting 280-315 (3 wd and driver) off the tee, but my short game buggered me...it is usually the other way around..still shot in the 80's though.

ChemDoc and Binkgundy, Day 2

Well, as I posted last night, Binkgundy (my name for unnamed crayon #2) arrived in the mail. Binky was pretty tired after the long journey, so we decided that today would be a big day.

We went to Toledo and had lunch at Hooters, as I told her a lot of her siblings have, and we met some nice people:

http://www.randomthinks.net/images/hooters.jpg

The drive wore her out, so we went back home and I showed her around the house and my office.

Binky check out my glass working skills:

http://www.randomthinks.net/images/marbles.jpg

She decided that it would be too hot for her to try.

We then went over to the office for a few minutes. I showed her one of the experiments my "Chemistry for Poets" class would be doing. Binky approved.

http://www.randomthinks.net/images/crayolab.jpg

She hung out with an octane molecule, since she is hydrocarbon based too:

http://www.randomthinks.net/images/octane.jpg

and then I showed her Crayonhenge:

We are going to the Michigan Renaissance Festival tomorrow, and will post more pics then.

Toledo is in Ohio. I know it's hard to look at their shirts and not focus on other things, but the city is labeled there. ;)

You know, I probably have way too much time on my hands...

I put the photos (I only posted 5 of the 23 that I took here) that I took of my adventures with my DVD/Preacher crayon in a photo album on my blog site today, along with some explanatory material for people who don't know the DVDTalk crayon story.

Take Your Crayon To Work Day

Hot Magenta comes to work with me. She had a pretty good time and all my co-workers were impressed.

http://hometown.aol.com/tomopus/images/parking.jpg

A first class parking spot was reserved just for her.

http://hometown.aol.com/tomopus/images/badge.jpg

Our lovely receptionist Jennie cheerfully greets Hot Magenta and sends her off to training.

After training, it's time for lunch and some "machine cuisine".

After lunch, Hot Magenta is greeted at my desk by Plush Opus and Bobble Marshall Faulk. Antenna Ball Jack was camera shy...

No. You draw with one edge of the crayon and it comes out multicolored.

I know...I used to have one as a kid. :) Of course, they're completely useless for drawing. Good for making colorful scribbles though.

Just one picture today.

Wisteria and I walked down to legendary Kono's for egg burritos, and this was our view looking north up Pacific Beach toward Tourmeline, a big surfer hangout. Can you believe we live here? :)

He's not kidding either. I spent 20 minutes trying unsuccessfully to convince my wife to pose for a similar picture.

"I don't want my picture on the Internet!"
"But they won't see your face and you'll be clothed."
"I don't care."

I even tried to convince her that such a photograph would enrich our sex life, be a joy and inspiration for thousands of homeless children, and go along way towards repairing the hole in the ozone layer. No dice.

Hope it arrives in the next few days. By tomorrow it will have been 2 weeks since it shipped. A bit bloody long.

Apparently in you live on or near large bodies of water it helps in shipping time. Netherlands, Hawaii, Cali and the East Coast have done pretty well. soon.

BizRodian 09-01-03 08:46 PM

Yeah, I live not far from Preacher, and when I send stuff to my girlfriend in Cali it gets there super fast always.

Keyser Soze 09-02-03 12:12 AM

My crayon has arrived... more to come soon.

Thanks Preacher, pix to follow.

#4 just found out he is going to Belgium next month after the trip to Ohio.

I just know it's in a sewer or under a porch with thousands of other pieces of mail :(
