Can't believe I missed both threads, you guys had me in tears, especially in the first thread when philosophyshop's other purchases came to light. Classic.

I wonder if there are more chapters here, waiting to be written. Glad you got them Strife. The auction ended while I was out of town.

Forget Harry Potter, these threads should be printed and sold (on ebay?). I finished up the first thread, then headed out to meet up with some people for dinner. Couldn't get my mind off of the thread, kept wondering what the final bid was. Headed straight for the laptop once I got home.

I was going to ask for the same thing. If possible, quote the whole article/blurb/whatever.

Once again I offer up some glory from my eBay past. This one didn't reach my reserve, sadly, and I ended up making it a gift to a big Spinal Tap fan (I know, it's touching)

SPINAL TAP DRUMSTICK!
EXTREMELY RARE ACTUAL STICK USED IN TAP NYC SHOW!!!

See below for description...

This is a RARE SPINAL TAP DRUMSTICK from the legendary band's 1992 BREAK LIKE THE WIND tour! Spinal Tap, famous for the film THIS IS SPINAL TAP and for being the world's loudest band are an amazing band. A noted Spinal Tap expert told me that the drummer spontaneously combusted moments after throwing this drumstick into the audience, but I couldn't confirm that.

This is an actual stick used in their New York City show at the Beacon Theater on June 23, 1992. It has the Spinal Tap logo printed on it! The stick is beat to hell from the awesome drumming and looks great, like a drum stick used at a killer show should look! You won't find many of these out there! I couldn't find any record of any being sold on the internet.

For a sense of how valuable this drumstick is, listen to Spinal Tap's own David St. Hubbins, when he was talking about the launch of their web-site tapster:

"Tapster.com was a marvelous success," said Tap singer David St. Hubbins. "We increased our traffic by more than 8,086,500 percent in the first twenty four hours of the site's launch. If you apply that formula to the Auctions, well, a Tap drumstick that would normally go for approximately $20.00 will likely fetch somewhere in the neighborhood of $160,000,000,000."

Let me just reiterate that this is one of the finest sets of threads in the years I've been here. Almost as brilliant as the four TopBunk threads and I have a feeling it's not done yet.

Over 7,000 views on the auction so far.

I think the key was to have the words "das boot" in the title. Let's face it, nobody does searches for crayons anymore than they do searches for clown straws, but there are people looking for das boot stuff.

Also, you can do a search for the auction ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...egory=158&rd=1 ), but the only thing that comes up is the "I Love Bacon" site.
