My only problem is I don't have a house yet. AND I think it's more of a problem to you guys than myself since I am about to buy another car over moving out. I love my parents, love the cheap rent :):D , and will love having the h/b & LX.

....Oh, and I'll be checking out a white 93 h/b in the morning which if I like I'll be paying cash :o

Bash all you want, but how many of you can actually go withdraw 3k for something you really want? ...Make that 7k, since the motor will be on order a few days after.

And you'll still be sharing a bunkbed with your brother.

Man, you are money.

Well, let's see here...

I have about $25000 in savings right now. Before I bought my house with a $16000 down payment, I had $41000 in savings. Last year, I had $32000 in my regular bank account from the $93000/year job I had. My g/f has about $42000 in savings right now. That's after she put a $15000 down payment on our house.

Yup, I think I can get that 93 h/b.

Very odd. You're simultaneously:

1. Bragging about how much money you make and have, and your extravagent purchases.

2. Lording it over those less fortunate than you.

3. Sleeping on a bunkbed with your brother.

4. Complaining that you can't afford to pay your parent's fair rent.

This thread is like an absurdist play. Each of the pieces is fine on its own, but when you put them together it just doesn't make sense.

 Yeah, no problems with your spouse because you are already divorced with a 5 year old and moved back in with mommy. You got it all.

My only problem is I don't have a house yet.

Trust me, that is far from your only problem.

 3 grand is nothing to most people. Admittedly it is a little easier to save up when you are still getting an allowance

Good for you. Have a great life. Move back in after the next marriage fails when it turns out there is only one adult in the relationship.

I do wish you luck, but even more, I wish you some maturity.

Get a freaking apartment! Who cares how big it is??? Anything is better than being 25 and living in your parents house under your little brothers bunk bed. I don't know you and blah blah but I think you need to get your priorities straight.

Now if you had the top bunk, it would be a different story.

Your right I couldn't go to the bank right now and pull out 3,000 dollars to buy a 1993 car that I wouldn't drive back and forth to work.

But I am 26 with a wife and a kid on the way. We put 20% down on our house and have only 15 more years till it's paid off. We have stock investments at over 6 figures ( thank the lord even now). Own both of our cars outright neither of which are over 5 years old. Have no debt what so ever not even credit cards.

So you see some people have different priorities. If I still lived at home single not paying rent I could also go out and buy just about any car on the market, not just a Honda, but a 911 or a Viper but I want different things. To each their own, but you shouldn't brag about being able to pull money out of savings to buy a car when you sleep on-top of your little brother in bunk beds

He sleeps on top of his brother!?

I really think other than comic relief this thread and any others on this subject should be locked.

The originator has no desire to change so why post a thread.

The only thing I can see coming of this is someone or more than one person going way over the line and getting suspended or banned.

Which would really be a waste considering the subject matter :(

I wish LX98civic some luck since I think in the long run he will need it.

why not just drive an integra w/ integra engine?

this is not a diss, i just don't understand.

I'm so confused...

einTier 10-20-02 02:10 AM

I don't know, I'd love to dig this up in a year when the threads are:

"dude, houses are expensive!! I can't afford one, and mommy says I can't stay in my brother's room anymore."

"hey! What do you mean I have to wash these clothes?"

"wow... bathrooms don't just stay naturally clean and fresh"

"I'm spending like $50 a month on stuff like shaving cream, razors, soap, and toilet paper... how does one survive?"

"man, groceries are expensive. I'm moving back home."

"I just had the lights shut off! I thought $80 a month was unreasonable, so I tried to negotiate to pay $5... now they're asking for $150 just to turn it back on! And another $150 in a security deposit to keep it on!! What do I do???!!!"

Like I said, you're so not ready to own a house.

So true, so true. This is why I don't listen to the opinions of anyone I know that has never lived on their own. It's all about perspective.

I'm so confused... [/B][/QUOTE]

The Civic is considerably lighter than the Integra (probably about 300 lbs or so). All else being equal, an engine in a lighter car will mean the lighter car will accelerate faster.

The B18C1 engine that he wants (I think I remember reading that's the engine he wanted), is the Integra GS-R engine which has a displacement of 1797 cc, a compression ratio of 10.0:1, 170 HP@7600 RPM, and 128lb-ft torque@6200.

I assume he's buying a 5th generation Civic with an EG chassis since I think I read he was getting a '93. The US Civic (as opposed to the one Japan got (B16A)) has an engine (D16Z6) that cranks out 125 HP@6600 RPM and 106lb-ft torque@5200. Its displacement is 1590 cc and has a compression ratio of 9.2:1.

Basically, I'm spouting off those figures to say that the engine he wants is way better than the stock engine in the Civic he's buying. Also, if another Civic rolls up on him, they're not going to know what kind of engine he has under the hood and they would be unpleasantly surprised when he smoked them in a drag race.

Of course, if somebody were to have an H22 (Prelude engine) in their Civic, our favorite bunkbed-sleeping miser would be the smokee and not the smoker and would be seeing emergency lights flashing.

Clear?

Dear god, this whole time I thought he was talking about the Civic Hybrid:
