Criterion Replacement Cases

OK, I've spend about 10 minutes trying to find this in a post. Which company produces the cases that the Criterion DVDs come in?
thanks.

All the Criterion cases I own are made by Alpha, single and double-wide.

Criterion has used a variety of DVD cases of different makes, including but not limited to, Amaray, Alpha, the claw of death type (as used by Universal Studios at one time) and Scanavo.

However, Criterion uses Amaray and Alpha the most.

Didn't seem to confusing to me. Tho I do admit it was a bad design choice...the white catches your eye quickly. I like your cover much better.

What I saw when I first looked at this was Snipes in a kneeling (one knee down one up) position. From that point of view the light patch would be cutting across his right leg just above his downed knee.

You have forced this locked impression out of my mind and I can now invision his right leg outstretched behind him. It is not that clear however and what we are dealing with is almost like the different readings of an ink blot.

Now I know what the hell that was! I think I'll leave it out nevertheless.

Which custom cover were you refering to? I have done a keepcase conversion very similar to Rouge's, and you can download the high-rez version here.

Here's one I had a lot of fun with!

That yellow seal was the trick! It's printed on the original cover. The origianl spine was cut off so the two halfs would fit in a standard keepcase and there was a small amount of damage to the top portion of the spine area.

New Covers

Anyone hate some of their covers and want something done about it? It seems there are many artists who know their way around Photoshop who could help you, so I think it would be a good idea to post requests for more attractive "original" covers.

I'll send it to DVDCoverart when it's back up, but I'll leave it on my server for a while. I've got plenty of space so I'm in no hurry to take it down.

I just picked up Amadeus (DC), True Romance (DC), and Unforgiven (10th Ann.), so if anyone wants keepcase converts for these drop me an email.

Rusty,

Im still in the dark ages with only a 56K line and only a small amout of webspace provided by my ISP. But I did squeeze the 6+MB 'West Side Story' cover on. I won't be able to keep it up long, however. so get it as soon as you can. Let me know if it works out, I've never done this before.

Hope it works, enjoy
John
