Trixie, for your eyes only
Y'know, it doesn't feel like 32 years have passed since we first met in Mrs. Schimmel's 3rd grade class. It seems like only yesterday that we roamed the halls of P.S. 200...in the same class, year after year. A funny coincidence that we should both end up with the same musical instrument in Mrs. Bender's 4th
grade class...Our friendly rivalry in Mrs. LaCerra's 5th grade class for class' spelling champ.
Going to Jr. High was intimidating...new building, all new faces except a few... and one familiar one in particular... yours. I was very happy and relieved to discover that you were in my classes...not only that year, but all of our years at Cavallaro.
There were many memorable events in my school life, and a special someone was there to experience them with me...it was you.
It was always you.
I still can't understand why I never asked you for your mailing address to keep in touch when we graduated. Maybe it was because I had discovered that I'd be moving away and the possibility of seeing you again would've been remote. Maybe it was because I was a nerd and felt very awkward around you (unable to decypher the feelings I had for you back then). Most likely it is because that is the way it was supposed to be.
22 years had passed since we both graduated together from Cavallaro... and I was reminiscing about our old neighborhood and classmates. I had lost my Jr.High yearbook during one of my moves but wanted to get a hold of a copy. The first person I thought of to ask, was you. After a few internet searches, I found you.
We exchanged a few emails, briefly catching up on what we were currently doing. Unfortunately, you didn't have the yearbook either, and something told me not to continue to exchange emails...so I just stopped.
Another 3 years passed... I changed ISPs a few times, along with my email address but neglected to give you my new addresses. Then out of the blue I received an email from you...
...Wow, how did you find me? What made you think of me?
How bizarre that you would be reading the DVD Talk forum (even though you didn't own a DVD player), and stumble across my id, SRACER, and draw the connection to me and my interest in Speed Racer.
It was great to hear from you again.... we picked up our conversation where we left off 3 years earlier as if only a day had passed. The connection we had was strong and undeniable. We were both pleasantly surprised to learn that although we both led extremely different lives, we ended up where we started...
with virtually everything in common...the same likes...dislikes... it was nothing short of amazing. We could finish each other's thoughts. Our friendship not any less heartfelt, despite a 25 year gap.
On a few occasions through those 25 years, I thought about you, wondering where you were, how you were doing, if you were happy. I recalled our friendship, and thought about how rare it was for a boy and a girl to have a friendship like that.
When we finally reunited in person last Spring, it was so surreal I thought that it might have all been a dream. There I was, standing on the staircase landing overlooking the main concourse of Grand Central Station, when I saw you... for the first time...in 25 years.
My heart pounded as I saw you walking toward me... you were breathtakingly beautiful. The years had indeed been very kind to you. We finally reached each other, embraced, and kissed. Our first kiss.
Since then, many amazing things have happened for us. Miraculous things. Things that could only be believed if they were witnessed firsthand. Too many things to mention now.
So here we are a year since that Spring morning in Grand Central Station. You are my oldest, best, and dearest friend. Our love for each other has transcended time and space. My life experience has given me a greater appreciation of who you are and what we have together. I can now see everything that I've been missing in my life...because you are everything that I need...everything that I want. I have discovered something very important...It was always you.
By the time you get to this point of this post, I will be standing behind you...waiting for your answer to...
....Will you give me the chance to spend the rest of my life making you happy?
....Would you like to share what life has in store for us, together?
....Will you make a childhood fantasy a reality?
WILL YOU MARRY ME?
Considering that DVD TALK was instrumental in bringing us back together, I thought it was fitting to post this here. Besides, you said that billboards, pink lawn flamingos, and Baseball stadium announcments were out of the question.
(editted to fix the formatting... it was driving me crazy)

I guess you didn't mean this Trixie, as I look around and do not see you behind me.
Anyway, if this is serious, good luck, dude. Sounds like you two were meant for eachother.
