Its tough but I'm gonna also go with The Shawshank Redemption with Pulp Fiction being a close second.

Without a doubt, The Three Colors Trilogy
if only one is being counted, then I'll go with Red |
Tie between FORREST GUMP and THE LION KING.
Honorable mention: PULP FICTION. |
Arg, I hate having to bump my own thread, but I'm sure we can get some more votes in before the first tally... I'm surprised that Pulp Fiction and Shawshank aren't really dominating that much. 94 was definitely a great year for film as you can tell, arguably better than the consensus favorite of recent years, '99.
Anyhoo, let's get some more in... I'll probably check back after the Globes tomorrow night! |
when does 93 start up?

although I like Shawshank Redemption better, i think this title should still go to Pulp Fiction for what it did for film.
i say this because what Tarantino did with the time sequence in Pulp was extremely innovative. the complete remixing of the chronology was phenomenal. the fact that the same incident appears in two different perspectives at the beginning and the end was revolutionary. -di doctor- |
1994?
Dumb & Dumber & The Lion King |
I hoped for a few more votes, but it's obviously shaping up to being a race between Shawshank and Pulp Fiction, with The Fiction (as I like to call it) starting to take a decent lead.
If The Fiction gets a little more of a lead in the next few days, I'll close the thread and call it the winner, but hopefully we can get a few more votes in first. 1) Pulp Fiction (11 votes) 2) Shawshank Redemption (7.25) 3) Lion King (3) Obviously nothing is close to PF and SR. I'm a little worried that as we start to go farther back in years, people won't be near as familiar with what films came out in what years, and just won't have seen as many from those, but we'll keep going for now, and see how it works out. Here's the 1993 Thread |
Shawshank Redemption

I'll take Pulp Fiction with Shawshank Redemption a close second. Of course, there are a ton of flicks I haven't seen from '94.

1994 was a scorcher of a year for movies.
My vote goes to: Nobody's Fool. A wonderful film, and one of those rare ones that just gets better and better on each viewing. Has Bruce Willis and Paul Newman but sadly it looks destined to miss out on a dvd release. Second choice is Leon / The Professional, which is stunning on first viewing but has just a little less repeatability. |
Pulp Fiction, followed closely by Shawshank Redemption
|
1. Natural Born Killers
2. Pulp Fiction 3. Quiz Show 4. Ed Wood |
The Shawshank Redemption
|
Forrest Gump!
