Why don't you buy the region 1 (the international version) instead?

Because I believe the Integral version is a longer cut than any other version.

I bought mine at Sazuma.com a long while ago...laserexchange.com (one of my favorites for R2 discs) and rpmrecords.com should each have it. Hope that helps!

I just checked, and yes the full uncut version (133 min) is available in REGION 1: "Leon: The Professional: International Version (Remastered)"

http://www.express.com/consumer/prod...CTNUMBER=20237

It'll also be far less expensive than the Japanese dvd.

I think they are the same version

from imdb.com:

A longer director cut, retitled 'Leon: version integrale' has been re-released in French cinemas on June 26, 1996. This version is 26 minutes longer than the previously release version and features all sequences that were removed from the film after disastrous tests with L.A. preview audiences.

But it goes on to say:

The director's cut (with the 26 additional minutes) has been released on DVD.

The new R1 disc is the same cut as the R2 japanese disc. Both are the 'intergral' versions....So, buy the region 1 disc because it is very inexpensive when compared to the import--both are anamorphic transfers.

What is this R1 version called. There seems to be so many versions of Leon on DVD, I'm losing track.
