Does anyone know any good (cheap) b&m store in Hong Kong?
My brother and a few other friends will be there in a couple of weeks. I'm looking for HK DVDs, and also trying to broaden my collection of Akira Kurosawa DVDs (Rashomon and Ikiru among others). I know the Mei Ah DVDs aren't the best transfers, but they beat my VHS copies
Might pick up the Crouching Tiger R3 if I hear good reviews of the DVD too!

Just pick it up. it's a Columbia release. Most definately the same as what the US version will probably have (best bet is to head along to http://pub5.ezboard.com/bhongkongdvds for constant update on the disc), possibly the US version will have additional extras (but you want it for the film, isn't too much to ask. We brits are looking at equivalent of $30 for region 2 films). For a good selection of films go along to http://talk.dvdtalk.com/ubb/Forum3/HTML/021953.html , there's a good selection(said that twice). Also you must browse through http://www.asiandvdguide.com , essential guide (I've selected most of my films through views there). b&m has just miffed me(don't know what it means). Have to go.

DVD Shelf offer the possibility of picking up the stuff you ordered online in HK. In this thread it is discussed whether DDD House offers the same service or not and where to buy in HK otherwise.

Thanks guys!
I am familiar with The Asian DVD Guide & The Hong Kong Movie Database.
Also looked at DDDHouse and hivizone, but they don't seem to have an actual shop. I'll have to send my brother to Mong Kok and the Sino Centre and have him hunt around. He's not too familiar with DVDs (or my obsession for DVDs for that matter), and I'm worried that he'll pick me up a bunch of "discount" VCDs :O !
And yeah, I'll get the Crouching Tiger DVD as well (had to twist my rubber arm)
.
And thanks for finding that DDDhouse thread - I searched in International and couldn't find it - just noticed it was in the Bargains forum!
