I've heard that the only true uncensored version of Eyes Wide Shut is the region 3 release. Is that true? Are all other regions censored to some degree (though at least not as much as the U.S. region 1
version.

This is very interested. What parts were actually cut from the US release? And where exactly is Region 3 again?

There was an orgy scene that was cut (well not cut, but rather digitally alterred in the
U.S. version). Region 3 is Hong Kong and
Asia.

Region 2 (Uk version, at least) has uncensored orgy scene in it, but the music during the orgy scene has been changed (it was formerly some chanting from the Baghavad Ghita (sp?) which was deemed potentially offensive to religious groups) so it's not entirely "uncut", if you're going to be pedantic about it...

Exactly to whom was the changing deemed potentially offensive? Who the hell cares about the orgy music?

Ok:
There are 3 uncensored versions of Eyes Wide Shut:

Region 2 UK: The disc is PAL BUT it does have the music change

Region 2 Japanese--NTSC

Region 3 Hong Kong---NTSC

Both the Japanese and Hong Kong versions are almost identical in transfer quality and have the original, UNCUT orgy scene without the digital cloaked figures. The Japanese version is the more expensive about $10 more anywhere you look. So....I have to pick it up the HK sometime when I have some extra cash.

There's also the Region 4 PAL which I imagine should be the same as the Region 2 but probably cheaper. In fact it's probably the cheapest 'almost' uncensored release. Official R3 hollywood dvds seem to be really expensive for some reason.
