I couldn't believe it when I got a mail from a friend of mine, who recieved the DVD. He
had to manualy switch to region 1 before it would play... and to get rid of that annoying
"We're sorry, but this DVD is not intended for this region"-message with that lovely region
map of the world.

So... when Columbia / Tri Star say that they will only use RCE on new titles, they obviously
also mean back catalogue titles which are newly re-released. Those sneaky sods!


Pretty sucky huh?I couldn't care less about The Patriot,but it looks like I'm gonna have to shell
out for an upgrade hack on my Phillips 840 auto-region select after all,as this on the way to me
already.
The crazy thing is,the artists and distribution company don't get any more money from me,but
the local hackers are sitting pretty..I mean it's not like I'm going to settle for the infinitly inferior
version on local R4 release.
Shame on you Columbia Tristar
