The Apu Trilogy DVD (Satyajit Ray) from Artificial Eye
I know this is a new thread for such an old release (and still the best version out there in picture quality and extras), I finally decided to delve into Ray's trilogy for the first time.
So while watching disc 1, "Pather Panchali", I realized that it was "Aparajito" (the second film). The 2 discs artwork was switched, with "Pather Panchali" having "Aparajito" on the disc, and "Aparajito" having "Pather Panchali"
I might be the only one out here that has this problem, since I couldn't find anyone else with this problem.
At least it's only switched. If I had 2 copies of 1 movie and missing 1, that would've been a lot worse. So yes, I accidentally watched part 2 before watching part 1. But it might be pretty good this way. Watching "Aparajito" made me very interested in watching "The Prequel" and "The Sequel".
I know that Criterion must be prepping some Ray films in the future, as they have hinted at "The Music Room" (Jahalgasar) for Blu-ray and DVD, so I'm very well hoping for the Apu Trilogy for BD too.
In the meantime, the other Artificial Eye Ray sets are very recommended too.
My favorite of the Volume sets, as I love all 3 films in here:
Currently the cheapest, and has 2 shorter 'comedy'
Volume 3 has the final films in his life plus a documentary about Ray's music
Standalone disc, eclipsing the Kino US disc in extras.

I have the Apu Trilogy without the issue you have.
Don't forget there are three more from the UK which I have. They were by Bongo films - Devi, Two Sisters, and Company Limited. There is only one listed at Amazon however. MOC has Abhijan ofcourse.

Clearly the meatiest extra, the "World Of Apu Movie Masterclass", with a teacher deconstructing the movie with 6 film school students for 1 hour is well worth the time, it was clear they found 6 film students who had no idea how to dress themselves. (Nevermind that it is from years ago, it's still inexcusable)
