Do not worry about customs.
I have ordered heaps of dvds from several stores and have never been charged.
One box was opened once (had a customs seal on it) but no problems.
Not quite sure if gst will change things later though.

The official word is that they will only bother collecting customs duty if the amount is greater than 50. Since duty is something like 25-28% then you probably want to keep your order under around 180 AUD. Of course a friend of mine has exceeded that several times and not been charged but whether you want to take the risk is up to you.
I'm fairly sure that the GST is entirely unrelated to duties on incoming parcels. Although duty dropping from current levels to 10% is a nice thought!

Just keep it below $180ish and you will fine. Cos the tac is 22% and if it's below $50 they won't collect it as it's not worth their trouble.
They sometimes keep track of your address if you order a lot, that is like 100 DVDs in a month or something like that. If u gonna order so many then maybe u want to use friend's address, or your mother-in-laws, hehe...

I have had some deliveries from Amazon and they have not attracted any Custom Charges.
I have only bought 5 DVD's at time and the value is never more than $80 - $90 USD at a time
I would agree with Chris that customs are only interested in large amounts.
