Conan the Barbarian 2 Disc SE Hong Kong

Anyone have this or can comment?

I have the US version that has less extras and no DTS. The Hong Kong has DTS!

Sounds the same as the two disk R4 Australian release.

Yes its the best version available, and its the longer international cut of the film. Whilst it has DTS its not a new 5.1 remix, but a faux-mix - but IMO still better than the mono soundtrack.

What do you mean by fau-mix ? I am buying it mostly for the DTS cuz my US version is 2.0 mono.

The 5.1 mix on the overseas CONAN THE BARBARIAN is awesome. There are some stereo-separated effects here and there and the score does seem to be in stereo -- I think the other poster might be confusing this with CONAN THE DESTROYER, whose international DVD Special Edition clearly has a "faux" 5.1 mix (as in, it's fake stereo, with the stereo amplifying the mono sound).

Either way I have the 2-disc SE from Hong Kong, it's the best version out there...has all the extras but the International sound is better than the U.S. version...and the TRANSFER is also far better too in the Fox overseas version!

Seems to be OOP, same for the Korean SE (might be identical).

OK Im reviving this thread in case someone can help.

I received the "2-Disc Special Edition" Hong Kong R 3 DTS version of this film from playasia (http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-...hyn-43-9.html).

However it states it only as 106 min on the back cover of DVD. I know the uncut is 130 min though and I haven't yet opened this DVD. Can someone confirm if the version I have is just a typo on the back cover since my research shows that the Hong Kong version IS the uncut 130min international version of the film.

THANK YOU TO ANYONE THAT CAN HELP

Re: Conan the Barbarian 2 Disc SE Hong Kong

I'm at a toss up between the HK and the AUS, anyone have a real definite preference?

I'd go for the HK as the audio on the AUS sounds sped up do to the PAL transfer. While you're at it, can you throw a link to that HK one? If it's cheap enough, I'll get it, too. I'm tired of waiting for a Blu-Ray.
