Cheap Bergman...
I'm on a bit of a Bergman kick lately, but don't have access to all the films I want to check out. I found this DVD set, it's Asian, it's cheap, and it's apparently not a bootleg, but I'm wondering what kind of quality it is. I see a few of them only have non-English subtitles, and are PAL, but I don't mind that entirely as long as the transfers are decent. Has anyone seen this or any similar set before? What's the quality of the release?

Let me straighten this out: If you are talking about the Chinese set floating on Ebay and elsewhere that mirrors that put out by Tartan, no, it is not legit. Stay away from it.
If you are serious about Bergman and willing to invest a bit (why would not) I strongly recommend Tartan. It is an expensive set but well worth it.
