Any U.S. films only available in other countries?

I have a couple of American films on DVD that you can only find in other regions. I have the region 4 theatrical version of The Last of the Mohicans and the region 3 director's cut of Army of Darkness . I considered getting the director's cut of Kill Bill, but the whole subtitle issue for Japanese vs. English dialogue has me still waiting for a local release.

Anyone know of any other great DVDs (for movies that had a mainstream release here in the U.S.) which can only be found in other countries?

Song of the South - I'm pretty sure you can only get that on Japanese Laserdisc or something.

Two titles I own that come to mind immediately are Last Exit To Brooklyn (R4) and The African Queen (R2).

What about "The Game"? Didn't it get the special edition treatment elsewhere?

Universal put out the two films noir "The Blue Dahlia" (1946) and "The Glass Key" (1942) on DVD in the UK, but not in the US. Strangely, they were both available on VHS in Universal's Film Noir collection, but absent from their US DVD releases for some odd reason.

Don't forget Party Girl, Bigger Than Life, Knock On Any Door and Hot Blood as well. It's outrageous how little of Ray's catalog is available in the States.

Rapa Nui. There's a German DVD. I've always wanted to get it but never found info on the quality of the disc.

Just like the Italian disc it offers only a dubbed version, a German dub (the Italian disc offers only an Italian track). The Korean disc and believe the old HK disc, is the only one that boasts English audio. Still the quality is slightly above average.

Ciao,
Pro-B

Thanks for the info Pro-B. I guess I'll just hold on to my LD version for a bit longer. Were the old KR or HK releases anamorphic?

It's still listed in the Disney catalog. Just got a new one in the mail a few days ago.

"The Game" was released in Region 2. It's anamorphic and has the same features as the Criterion Laserdisc. I just got it a couple months ago from Amazon UK, and it's awesome.

Also, I know the topic is about movies, but the first season of "Even Stevens" was released in Region 4. No features, but the video is pretty good.

There are quite a few Hammer horror titles not available in R1 or have superior editions in other regions.

There should be a sticky thread that everyone can contribute to with movies that are available/better in other regions.

There was some kind of issues with Eureka's release of "The Savage Innocents" and it has been replaced with an abysmal pan&scan DVD

France has The Brave, starring and directed by Johnny Depp, co-starring Marlon Brando. Never released in the US on any format.

Has anyone seen The Road To Wellville from the UK? I'm wondering if it is widescreen as advertized on Amazon UK. The American release is full screen only.
