My copy came with a rolled-up poster of the girls, which meant the box was so long it wouldn't fit in my mailbox, which meant a trip to the post office about a mile away.

Great videos, though.

WOW! What a triple bill. I think I'd have to commit suicide after watching these three. Seriously, Lilya 4-Ever is a great film.

I've just ordered 8 MoC titles from their July sale. (Nous ne vieillirons pas ensemble/Passe ton bac D'abord/Kokoro/Alone Across the Pacific/Judex-Nuits Rouges/Shoeshine/Funeral Parade of Roses/Mad Detective) I ordered the same number of MoC dvds this month than Criterions (and paid less for them).

bought Shaun The Sheep - The Complete First Series [DVD] for £12.38 - gonna give my niece and nephew the 3 region 1 discs I had bought prior since they don't own them, and they're hooked on Shaun.

I am considering getting this DVD and just wondering if there might be other potentially better editions.

I see.

From what I know both Region 1 editions are OOP so you might want to make a quick decision.

I forgot to ask: is the video transfer of the LolaFilms DVD anamorphic?

Tell me about it. No slit wrists, just a twisted ankle from jumping off my one-story home. Funny thing though, my region free player did commit suicide. Bought a new player and placed a new Amazon.uk order.

Straw Dogs - £5.05

John Hughes High School Year Book - Weird Science/Sixteen Candles/The Breakfast Club - £7.60

The Woody Allen Collection - Vol. 1 Annie Hall/Bananas/Everything You Always Wanted To Know About Sex/Love and Death/Manhattan/Sleeper - £7.65

The Jean-Pierre Melville Collection - Army of Shadows, De Doulos, Leon Morin Pretre, Le Cercle Rouge, Bob Le Flambeur and Un Flic - £13.56

Mesrine - Parts 1 & 2 - £6.80

Love Exposure (2 discs) - £7.65

Centurion - £8.45

Total after shipping was around $104. Not bad for 20 films.

Wow. Looks like fun. New transfers on any of those?

But for me the real question is -- when do we get some Tarkovsky on blu-ray?

Re: What Have You Ordered Recently? Part 7

Blu-rays from Amazon UK:

The Graduate (Studio Canal) -- I highly recommend this version. I have the imported HD DVD from Studio Canal which is still a superior transfer the domestic version. You can check out the Beaver review here.

La Haine -- Another double dip from HD DVD. I have been waiting for Criterion to release this on Blu-ray as the transfer is one of the best I have ever seen on any format. I finally bit the bullet when I saw Amazon had it listed for £6.99

Cache [Hidden] -- Couldn't find much info regarding regional coding or A/V quality but it one of the greatest films of this decade and priced at £7.99 made the purchase easy.

I've been waiting for that BD to drop to around that price. Might have to order it soon.

Here's the DVD Beaver review. It's a highly recommended film/disc, and actually the first Blu-ray I ever watched.

Re: What Have You Ordered Recently? Part 7

From amazon.co.uk:

The Kevin Bishop Show, Series 2
Spoons, Series 1
Blake's 7, Series 1
Blake's Junction 7

Bought the first two primarily because of my wife's love of British sketch comedy, but having Karen Gillan in the first certainly doesn't hurt.

Re: What Have You Ordered Recently? Part 7

I noticed that they were selling the UK TV series, Chris Ryan's Strike Back (Blu) on Amazon US. I checked Amazon UK, where it was much cheaper, and bought it only to discover that it doesn't play. It says, Resolution not supported, so I'm guessing that it's a 1080i/50Hz. Fudge! They are selling the UK version on the US website, so I thought I was good to go. Guess not.
