Oldboy Question
I am trying to decide whether to pick up the R0 Tartan Oldboy or buy the R1 box set from Amazon. The main difference seems to be the documentary. Is this really worth the extra $20?

The set you want is the Tartan Tin, not sure if that is the boxset you're referring to.
The tin is awesome and its OOP, so get it asap.

Worst case .. you buy the Tartan release, hate it and sell it for probably half of that (unless you got a really good deal). If you go with the tin and you hate it, you'll probably at least make the majority of your dinero back on the aftermarket. I've seen used pull in $30.
The most sensible solution .. rent it first then decide
I really enjoyed the film .. haven't heard the commentary yet .. but I hear it's fantastic.

Thanks for the comments and suggestions. I decided to pull the trigger and grab the tin from Amazon for $31.99 My gut is telling me I'll probably love it and would regret not getting the tin with the book and lengthy documentary. My only concern is that I have heard a lot of good things about it, which means I'll go into it with high expectations and get disappointed.

Oldboy is one of my top ten favorites. I own three different copies of it (original Tartan release, the LE tin, and the R2 Vengeance Trilogy box set). The Blu-Ray should be arriving within the next few weeks (I can't wait to watch it in HD!).
I think you made a great choice with the tin. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
