I've seen two from him, courtesy of Criterion. The Leopard is indeed a great film but White Nights I found to be interesting rather than good.
Anyway, I like his style and looked at imdb. From what I can gather Ossessione and Rocco and his Brothers are unanimously recommended. But there's no decent dvd out for either? There seems to be an expensive one for Rocco available from Italy, but screenshots on dvdbeaver dont look worth the price. Is there any good versions of these two films on dvd (or any coming)?
And what others would people recommend? Links to the appropriate dvds would be a big help too.
cheers

The Damned (in my opinion is far better than the Leopard). R1 is very good.
Bellissima- terrific Anna Magnani

The newly-restored La Terra Trema

Death in Venice is also presented on a good R1 DVD.
Rocco and his Brothers is my favorite picture. The DVD has some flaws but it is by far the best I have seen this film look and sound:

The rest are either unavailable at the moment in R1 land or with poor transfers overseas (that will include Senso)
Ciao.
