So when did play.com stop shipping outside the UK?

Was surprised to find I could no longer order dvds from play.com
Their website is impossible to navigate in order to find more information on this. One pages still indicates that they ship to many countries including norway.

Is this a new british export law?
Anyone have the story?

There's no new law like that as far as I know. The only new law coming out concerns the shipping of DVD's from Jersey (where Play.com is) to the UK and having to pay tax on them.

Maybe they're just not shipping out over the christmas period?

hum, it would be quite a bummer if they permanently stop shipping overseas.
I'll have to find another zone 2 source :-(

I do not understand what the confusion is all about:

PLAY has never shipped to the US and I do not predict they will...based on their distribution centers!

They STILL ship to the before-enlargement EU countries (so that will leave out all Central and Eastern European EU newcomers).

I think I can explain the confusion

The problem here is either bad writing of bad reading....

For years i've ordered from Play.com and had things shipped to Norway. When I recently tried to place and order, it indicated that they could only ship to UK addresses. IN reading the new additions to the help in this regard,, it said that only those items marked in Euros could be shipped to non UK addresses....

I assumed that the items would simply be marked in Euros,, What I didnt connect was, it meant I should switch my currency setting to Euros.

Someone else in this thread mentioned this point, and I tried it immediately.. It worked fine.

For people who have been ordering for sometime on this site, the change was rather sudden and didn't make sense.

The good news:

All is well and I have since ordered, though I prefer to think in pounds or dollars. But, I'll get the hang of Euros soon enough.

I can confirm that switching to Euro allowed the final process of ordering.
As for where they ship, I defer to message posted above. (Not sure where you are located but i'm in Norway.)

Also, I've been using play.com for years and if they do delivery to your country, I highly recommend them. I've had near flawless results and on the odd occaision when something did go wrong, their CS was quick, polite and helpful.

This is why I was so bummed out when I couldn't order recently.
