What's special about this release? No detailed information at Play.com.

I am going to take yet another wild guess...I think that this would be yet another Studio Canal UK-entry. Perhaps the double French disc is finally arriving in the UK with an extra 1-2 features on top of what the French double set offers:

• Le Making Of "Silence on tourne"

Ciao,

according to HMV, it's from OPTIMUM.so i expect it to be worth the wait but i would be really really pissed if it didn't have english subtitles like OPTIMUM recent releases.

Well, Optimum are now property of Studio Canal so the above guess should stand!

It's not pixelation, per se. That portion of the frame was digitally painted out. If your brightness and contrast levels are adjusted properly, it should be seamless. The shade of black used was specifically chosen to blend in with the shadows in the shot. On my screen, I can only see it if I crank the brightness to nearly twice its proper setting.

Yes, all video masters of the movie have this effect. It was not present on the theatrical prints, because with 35mm film you can't pause the frame and tinker with the brightness to catch a peek of the actress's pubic hair.
