All-Region Celestial Shaws?

What's up with this? I'd think its a typo, but they have lots of these Thai Celestial Shaws that are marked as "REGION CODE: ALL"

ethaicd labels these as Region-3

They are all region from what I hear, but please be aware that some of the Thai releases are cut. Mainly horror releases. Also, until just a few batches ago, were not of the same quality as the HK discs.

A lot of them are single layer dvds instead of the higher quality dual layer ones, too.

Actually, quite a few of the HK Shaw releases are also DVD5's.

I'm not sure about the more recent Thai Shaw titles, but all of the earlier releases say they are R3, but are actually R0.

Just to say, October 3rd is the debut of the Shaw Brothers Region 1 releases.

around the releases of Navel Commandos I believe a few batches back. Prior to that, I wouldn't buy the Thai releases.

BTW, Image's release of Black Magic, the start of their R1 releases, came out about two weeks ago. It's at most Wal-Marts for $12.95. Great price and I think the disc turned out excellent. Infra-Man comes out next, and if you're a fan, it's a must buy.
