Cheeky/Trasgredire, which to get?
There seems to be two versions of this title being released on May 30th,
an Uncut English version and an Uncut, Uncensored Italian version. Aside from
the language, does anyone have any recommendation as to which is the version
to get and why?
Amazon lists the runtimes as 86 minutes for the Italian and 87 for the English,
while Deep Discount lists the aspect ratios as 1.66:1 for the Italian and 1.78:1
for the English. Very confusing.
Sorry if this should be in the normal DVD forum, I posted here due to the film
being foreign.

The aspect ratio is most definitely 1.66:1 anything else would be... a cropping attempt. With this said, (and considering that I have not seen the specs) the uncut Italian version should be the one to get. I do not believe the specs indicating that there is a longer "English" verison. Amazon is wrong!

The English version is about one minute shorter then the Italian version. There is an explicit bathroom scene that involves the majority of the cuts in the English version.

I fail to see how Cult Epics could make such a claim when the Italian release which was approved by Tinto Brass is in 1.66:1.

The film was not shot in 1.78:1.
You and I are well aware that 1.66:1 is not an apsect ratio that bodes well with US distribs. By the way...I like your reviews a lot

Cheeky to me eye looks like it ways framed for about 1.66:1 aspect ratio so I am not sure why its aspect ratio has been changed at the last minute. The good news is that the framing on the DVD does look correct.
I agree way too many releases with 1.66:1 aspect ratios are compromised because they are being cropped to fit a 1.78:1 frame. I wish more companies when making anamorphic transfers for 1.66:1 films would just add bars to the left and right of the frame which then keeps the compositions intact and uncompromised.
