Japan just came out with a 16:9 Fist of Legend DVD with original Cantonese/Japanese dub with NO burnin subs. No English subs either.

It is Region 2 NTSC since it is from Japan.

The previous best option was a 16:9 French DVD with original Cantonese/Japanese dub with burnin French subs.

No english subs.... So, how is it done right?

The French DVD has forced subs, no burned in subs. So if your player can disable user prohibitions, you won't have to bother with the French subs.

You know, there is just something wrong with a thread title like that, and the DVD does not have English subs.

This is not the "FINALLY" what-we-have-been-waiting-for version.

That is not a DVD done right...if it doesn't have english subtitles, it sucks no matter what, unless there is no dialogue in the movie..

FINALLY!!! to me means the French Collector's Edition. Already own it and I don't need anything else.

FINALLY!!! to me because I don't have a player that can delete forced subs and I understand Cantonese so no need for English subs.

This DVD is perfection to me!!! Besides we will never get a FOL 16:9 DVD because Miramax owns the rights.

Maybe you should have said in the thread title "Fist of Legend finally done right FOR ME." I got excited when I saw the thread title only to discover that we still have to wait for a more complete version (for English speakers) of this film to find its way to DVD.
