Experience Amazon.de shipping to U.S.?
I recently ordered the German version of "Flightplan" from amazon.de to see if it will play in my player. I tried one of my R1 DVDs "The Forgotten" as an R3 (that one's dual R1/R3 coded), and it played fine, have a Cyberhome. It claims to convert PAL-NTSC. We'll see.
My question is, the site says it was shipped today by Deutsche Post and I should expect it April 5-10. But the site says they ship via DHL.
Which is it? I didn't see an option for DHL on my order. Anybody else have experiences ordering to the U.S. from amazon.de?

Howdy!
The Deutsche Post and DHL is the same. The Deutsche Post bought DHL not too long ago. I never ordered from Amazon.de because of the high shipping cost. I bought some DVDs from incinea.de last month and I paid 12.99 Euro for shipping (flat rate, no per item charge on my orders) and both my orders got to me (near Albany, NY) within one week. They also take the German tax (Mehrwertsteuer) off (as Amazon does too, I think), that makes up for the shipping cost when you buy 3 or 4 DVDs as the taxes are high (they are somewhere around 15% or 16%). It seems though that the webpage is in German only.

Dirk

There was a similar thread on this a while back - many US buyers seemed to find that their packages took a long time to arrive, but in Europe I've always found them to be fairly quick (usually no longer than a week). I'm not sure why there's the delay to the US - are they sent surface, as opposed to air?

I also had good luck with jpc.de - shipping was 9.99 Euros to Canada and I got it in less than a week. Plus, they also take off German tax for international buyers.

2-3 weeks should do it.
