Tit and the Moon DVD question
I noticed in Borders that they are selling a Region 1 NTSC DVD of Bigas Luna's Tit and the Moon. It's the type of DVD that could be found in the Hispanic section of a DVD store (Mexican movies, Mexican/Spanish Soap operas). All it says on the DVD back cover (written in Spanish) is that it's widescreen and has english subtitles. Does anyone know if this version is anamorphic?

I would be very interested to find out WHO is producing this film with a R1 coding. Miramax owns the rights for this film (and as it is the case with so many other films they did not have a thatrical release in mind for the US) and I have not heard anything about it beeing a property of a different company as of late.
As far as I am concerned the Tartan release while not perfect is your best bet!

It's been released by Ventura/Cinema Latino in R1, whom I believe are affiliated with the spanish company Lolafilms. They've put out a number of well-known spanish films on dvd (la communidad, son de mar, golden balls, etc) in decent but PAL-NTSC transfers.
I would say it is anamorphic... I own the three mentioned above and they are all anamorphic.

Thanks...Borders once in a while has some surprising DVDs for a chain store...They surprised me one time when I found a Chinese NTSC ALL-Region DVD of BUGSY MALONE in the family section.
