I've never played PAL DVDs before... Can my player play them?

I am currently using the DVD player included in the LG LH-T750TB home theatre system to play my DVDs.

Will this play a PAL DVD? The product page makes no mention of NTSC/PAL.

www.videohelp.com is a good resource for this type of info.

I couldn't find my player on that site.

No worries though. I borrowed a PAL boot to test on my player and it worked.

Keep in mind that you also have to worry about region coding in addition to the PAL/NTSC format.

My player's been region unlocked for a while... It was just PAL DVDs that I would avoid because I didn't know if my player could read them.

Did they display the correct aspect ratio? Was the picture squished?

Bill, I'm not sure. I'm still on a 4:3 television, but it looked fine. Nothing looked squished.

I popped the DVD into another player and the picture was... "flickering". I can't find a better way to describe it.

the flicker is probably the unconverted framerate and color information. PAL is in 50 hz and has a definite flicker compared to what we're used to.
