Hot Topic Selling Battle Royale?

DVD Talk Legend
The Starmax SE of the first film? If it's that version, disc one is the exact same as it is in the three-disc edition with the (shit-tastic) sequel. Disc two, however, has extras devoted to the the first film (with no English subs).

i just ordered a dvd of this movie and i haven't seen it.i only learned about this movie on internet websites.i hope that i won't be disappointed. im from the philippines and from what i have learned, the best dvd copy of this movie is the one being released by tartan video. aside, of course from the one coming from japan or korea? as seen on yesasia.com.which i think is the one seen at the start of this thread.

sorry to bring up an old thread, but i saw this in hot topic the other day and was thinking of getting it. is it worth it? are there any good versions of this around for cheap?
EDIT: http://www.amazon.com/o/ASIN/B000F4L...295177-0339137
anyone know what this version could be? it seems that its being sold by amazon themselves (not in the marketplace) but it says the company is Toei, but according to dvdcompare.net, toei only made R2 releases which i didn't think amazon could sell. any ideas?

The cover and the special features are from the Australian version, which was released by Shock Records and is region-free. But everything I've read indicates the Shock release is PAL whereas Amazon lists it as NTSC, so I can't be sure.
