I'll call a distributor in HK and see what's up this weekend. I have to place my orders for the Election dvd's anyhow, so I'll see if it's on the radar with my dist.
It's been listed (the HK version) on YESASIA also, with unique cover art. I have to assume it's legit and a go;

this does cause confusion, but its understandable, because companies dont sort their official announcements out in a way which makes them clear and global...

YesAsia just posted a Limited Edition version of Dongmakgol without specifying what the extra goods are.
http://us.yesasia.com/en/PrdDept.aspx/pid-...section-videos/
Can someone post what it is as soon as they find out?

Small image of the fiiiinnne SFLV cover, via MadMad:
Compare Geum-ja's eyes here to her eyes on the French theatrical poster:
http://www.twitchfilm.net/archives/003886.html
=====
The Dongmakgol LE (limited to 5000 copies) comes with popcorn, which will probably contribute to shipping costs. *sigh*
http://madmad.co.kr/detail.html?dvd_id=17049
According to an online translator, it comes with popcorn, OST, photobook, and...
★ They make and they put out, it cannot believe laugh and the impression
★ Village eastern screen temper who of the steam whistles or illusion it does.
★ It produces with 5 ceiling limitation sets
★ OST records and 2 funerals Dvd
★ Own handwriting of player supervision it was enveloped with random, (the parturition confirmation which it receives it is possible.)
I'm kind of lost on most of that, but I think the last bullet point is referring to a signed item randomly included with some LEs.

nice find, vision of love : first sign of the 'lady vengeance' final artwork. suspect more will turn up very soon now... as for 'dongmakgol' limited edition being signed, its a common thing with korean dvds apparently.

Scott, yesasia is very reliable but it will delay your order by a couple of days until they get it but there is free shipping over a certain amount ($39 i think). Like the large majority of Korean titles, I'm willing to bet that these will not include english subtitles for the extras. The films will definately be subtitled in English. Now the question is, will both version of SFLV include subs?

From what we can tell they are subb'd. Yesasia is reliable, but a bit expensive. I actually decided to get one of these LE's and hold on to it until I can confirm the B&W is in the trilogy set. I pre-ordered mine from dvdfromkorea.com.
As for reviews, there are plenty on IMDB including my own. If you want a very, very general idea it's IMO somewhat like Kill Bill with very dark humour. Now it's not a "rip off", but the theme is similar. It's also more like SFMV than OLDBOY, but I'm not sure if that helps.
If you haven't seen OLDBOY or SFMV, you may want to look at the cheaper 1-disc version from HK, or wait for a US Tarten release. I don't think anyone would walk away from this "upset". As I mentioned above I went in expecting something near perfect.

Hi,
Has anyone tried and ordered from YesAsia to ship to Canada, namely Toronto lately?
I'm thinking of getting SFLV and Election to qualify for the free shipping.
Am I still gonna get hit with some handling fee or customs/duty taxes?
Thanks.

i loved "Oldboy" and I loved KBv1 & 2! this seems right up my alley.
and, should i see SFMV before i decide to get this?
also, will an R1 release have both versions of the film, color and B&W? probably not, and is there any differences in actual film with the color and B&W or what is the purpose of the B&W?
anyone on the above?

SFMV is downright depressing compared to Oldboy. I love dark humor, but the irony of SFMV's ending was bereft of any sort of levity, IMO.
Still, a great film, and required viewing for all PCW fans.

Depressing it was. I've seen it only once and I ended up not buying a copy because it left me with a really sick, dark feeling. Scenes that stick out at me immediately when I think of the movie are the elevator scene, the pee scene, and the stomach slicing scene. All of them are burned so indelibly in my mind, with nearly the same clarity as a videoclip. And to think I've only watched the film once.
I don't think I could watch it again, at least not alone.

Here's a question; if the SFLV is a Limited Edition, what are we to make of Chan-Wook Park's earlier claims that there will be only one version released in Korea?

Yes, it's a Limited Edition:

Plus, it's listed as "Sold Out" at KoreanDVDs.com.

Sounds different but I don't trust those listings. These could be exactly the same special features except for the OST disc.
