Pro-bassoonist, if this really works out you might add this store to the International retailer list.

Sure thing...however I am certain they no longer ship to the US (and if I am not mistaken you are in Denmark). Either way...post the info and we will sure bump it up for others to benefit.

Okay, here is the translation. But I must stress that it´s very expensive as they ship by a courier called DPD. The shipping price is the same as for the DVD itself. Total to Denmark USD 44.82. The DVD better be good.

Note: Step one is just the direct link to the Kontroll 2-Disc. Just find the title you are looking for and follow the process. If you have any question I´ll try to help as good as I can. Finally, think twice before ordering as it´s very expensive.

Good luck.

Hello,

Yes, we shipping by DPD (see details: www.dvd.net)
You can pay with EC/MC or VISA card.

The order process step by step:

1.
Click to link:
http://www.netpiac.hu/display/index....d=5102&style=1

2. In film data page (in the yellow area, where is the pirce) you see a
button:
"Kosaramba teszek" (buy it), click there.

3. Next page is "A kosár tartalma" (the basket).
Check the list: next the title "1 darab" (1 piece)

guarantee!
"Előrendelhető" - pre-order
"Elfogyott" - unavailable now (maybe coming later)
"Nem rendelhető" and "Lejárt jogú" - unavailable (constantly)
SUGGESTION: ORDER AND PAY ONLY WHEN STATE IS "Raktáron" or "Rendelésre" !!!

4. Next page is check in. You are a new user (I think), you must click the
left button: "Regisztráció" (registration)

5. "Az Ön adatai" - your details

[I think the right answer is yes (IGEN).]

Click the "Tovább" (next) button.

6. Shipping details

Név - there is your name
Ország - select your country and click the OK and wait reload the page.

In the reloaded page:

Is there a reason you don't use filmsaruk.hu? They are selling Kontrol for $15 US, and I shipped 4 dvd's to Canada for $20 total!? Even if shipping was $20 for one DVD, it's still cheaper than this other e-tailer. Even with the Western Union cost it's about $1 less

Well, depending on where you live in the world Western Union are extemely expensive to use - especially if living in Europe.

The info I provided is based for people who are not willing to use WU. Also, one are better protected. Anyway, it´s always better to have more than one supplier in a given country - in case a given title is out of stock.

Btw, Kontroll (2-disc) cost USD 24.21 at Filmsarok.hu and not USD 15.00.

Everyone is talking about the 2-disk DVD. Is the single disc Hungarian DVD of KONTROLL the same video and audio quality with English subtitles? I don't care about extras....Where is the cheapest place to buy the Single Disk version? Supposedly, it's in the 10 to 15 dollar range in some of the places I checked. Now, since it's a cheaper disc, is the shipping still around 20 dollars?

I am sorry but I don't see the logic here...why would you not pay an extra 4$.00 /4.50$ and get the superb double disc. As I stated in my review everything is English friendly. But what really strikes me as odd here is...why would the shipping be any less, or different, no matter what the final cost is. The Hungarian vendors (and I assume every other etailer no matter what the nationality) will charge you per DVD which equates in per unit...not whether or not it is a SE 2DVD or not. The few exceptions I would think will be if a SE edition has a unique packaging, etc.

Just my 0.02$...I think that at this point getting only the single disc, everything considered, is just a very, very poor choice!!

I also think that as far as the shipping options go at least for the US and Canada Filmsarok.hu and Peter's service is a great option. If you combine an order of four discs (let's assume that you go for the double SE) with shipping and WU taxes you are looking roughly at an average of about 22$/23$ per disc(s) delivered. I don't know what everyone else is expecting to find and what deals we are all looking for BUT I am ready to bet my name here that once you get the package with the SE you would most certainly be very impressed. Unless I am missing something and somehow 22/23$ is no longer considered a good price for a European import. To sum it all up...what the Hungarians are offering here is: great looking DVDs, excellent shipping service, top notch packaging, all around English friendly features/menus, superb techincal presentation....for the price mentioned above (including delivery). If this is not fine with you...you could always look around and hope that a cheap Asian replica will emerge somewhere...As I have said so many times...I'd rather pay a few extra $ and get the original European packages than a cheap looking (both package and audio/video) semi-legit replica from somewhere else. You get what you pay for.

toddly6666, the 2-disc set is supposed to have some really nice extras on disc 2. If I recall correctly, they include a couple of short films from the director.........and as Pro-b said, it is all English friendly. Pretty much everything I recall reading on this one says there is absolutely no doubt that you should opt for the 2-discer in this particular case.

If it's only 4.50 dollars more to get the 2 disc version, then that makes sense...if it's 10 dollars more, then I wouldn't be interested.

So which is the place to order from with a credit card and that currently has the DVD in stock? That Filmsaroc.hu site says it's a special order dvd or takes 10 days to order?

Is the 2-disc Kontroll R2 or R0? Someone on IMDB posted that it is R0.

It´s Region 0.

Numero7 has Kontroll back in stock. Not sure what the total cost will be if ordering from them.

UPDATE! Peter from Filmsarok.hu told me they´ll implement a Credit Card & Paypal payment system within a month.

Great! It should have been done by now. He is a great guy and adding up those two options would basically eliminate any issues one might have with ordering from Hungary. I highly recommend Filmsarok (...once again).

Awesome, I'll definitely order once the CC system is in place. The disc is PAL, I assume? I have an APEX player that can convert the signal.

Dane, thanks for the info. on the coming credit card payment implementation. Pro-B, thanks for the time you've put in on calling the site to our attention. I'll definitely provide some business to Filmsarok within the next couple of months (my wallet is sort of bogged down right now keeping up with a flood of Asian cinema titles that I've been looking forward to).

Has the CC payment option actually been implemented? I can't decipher the website for the life of me. I was able to register an account, but that's about it. I am not able to figure out which shipping options to choose and how to even complete the checkout. I did email them a few weeks back intending to use Western Union, but never placed the order (needed funds). I would prefer to simply order with a CC on their website.

For the record, I was quoted 25 USD for Kontroll and 20 USD for Sorstalanság and shipped airmail for 20 or regular mail for 15.

FYI, R1 will have a May 9th release from ThinkFilm. Here's hoping the transfer is better than for Kontroll...

Heh, I thought I had found a good deal for Kontroll 1-disc version at NetPiac.hu for HUF 990 ($4.57), but shipping would have been HUF 7390 ($34.12). Should have read Dane's comments more carefully.

Just an update (I have been corresponding with filmsarok periodically) and was sent this email on March 30:

we are finished with the work English-friendly website, but we must first
test it. So I think 1 week we need for it, so 1 week later you could see
in www.filmsarok.hu a new design, with English-frendly site. The credit
card module will be OK 2 weeks later.

Best Regards,

AMONTWIN,

Any news when the www.filmsarok.hu site will be ready in English? I still want to order the KONTROLL 2-disk dvd without hiring a translator...

Toddly,

Unfortunately not. I did write them recently, but have not heard back from them. I have been considering just going with the Western Union route like Pro-B and some others, but I really didn't want to do that. I will let you know if/when I hear anything...

The recently released German disc offeres English subs though there is only a 2.0 Hungarian track (with a German 5.1 dub).
