Multi voltage DVD player (110-230v)

Dear all,

I live in the UK but will be moving to Canada in a year or so, for now I have purchased a JVC DVD player in Canada (my fiancé is already living their) that does a PAL to NTSC conversion on region 0 discs. But I can’t find a hack to make it play region 2 (this would be ideal as it gives out a NTSC version of the PAL DVD) from what I have seen Canada has no TV's that can display PAL signals.

May end up taking a PAL/NTSC video projector with me.

Looking to buy a multi voltage DVD player in the UK that can be hacked to multi region, the kind of mod that does not need a code to change region. My Panasonic DVD-Recorder is region free and play region 1 or 2 without changing anything, pop in any DVD and it play it. But that's only 230v UK.

Not sure if you can even get a 110-230v full size player but I hope someone can confirm.

Cheers

R

You could try the Cyberhome 462 - it is 110/230V (at least in continental Europe) and multi-region capable. I can't tell you anything about its pal->ntsc capabilities, though.

I've owned a Cyberhome player, and it was 230V only, IIRC. It also broke down after just a year......

I would recommend getting a 110->230v power convertor. Something like this:
