A good release of Iron Monkey?
I ran a search and could only find really outdated threads. Anyway, is there a release of Iron Monkey that's relatively cheap, has good A/V quality, and is preferably NTSC? Just looking for an alternative to the Miramaxized version.

There's a new edition that just came out in Hong Kong. It's remastered and it'll be the original cut. Miramax blocks imports of Iron Monkey, though, so you'll need to go direct to a Hong Kong source ... I'd recommend buyoyo.com or dddhouse.com ...

Try this site. Its fast and it has very rare LEGIT DVDs. I ordered from them on a Thurs. and I got my order on a monday with the basic shipping.
I might make a post about them because there arent that many good Asian domestic sites. Hflix is kind of spotty.

Thanks for the responses.
I took a look at the comparison site, and the only NTSC discs were non-anamorphic. Is that accurate, meaning I'm pretty much stuck with PAL?

Et voila . That's the new HK release ... two Yuen Woo Ping directed, Donnie Yen starring films, all nicely remastered, NTSC, DTS sound, English subtitled with the original cuts.
And Moviesville does sell boots from time to time. And they're less than ethical in their descriptions ... I once had them try to sell me a copy of Beautiful Boxer as a sequel to Ong Bak. They had some third unrelated film bundled in as a trilogy, too. I bought from them once and the experience was HIDEOUS. I'll never go there again.

Oh ... the other guy in Iron Monkey? The non-Donnie Yen one who was also in Crouching Tiger? Busted for running a prostitution ring out of his US martial arts studio a week or so ago. I'll have to try and find the link ...

Hmmm ... the article I read said specifically that it was Bo in Crouching Tiger, who is also in Monkey. Guess they got it wrong. Or are these just two people who look remarkably similar but are unrelated? I've always just assumed they were the same person without looking it up ...

I don't know if the extras are subbed - my copy is still on the way - but it will be the original, unmolested cut and it's anamorphic widescreen. This is part of a series of remasters that Fortune Star / IVL have been doing and they've all gotten rave reviews for AV quality so far ...

The Eureka release is the definitive and best release so far.
