Sue

Amos Kollek's 1998 Award Winning film SUE is now out in Germany. Winner of the FIPRESCI Award (Panorama category) and the Prize of the European Ecumenical Jury this is a film that was very hard to get even on a VHS in the US. I inquired twice to get it for the university film series (the film was screened at the Berlin Film Festival) and we could not secure a copy because of the rights issues (this is a US film that so far has gotten only European distro deals).
Highly recommended!

In addition Kollek's Fiona and Bridget are also available!!

Ciao,
Pro-B

ps
For the record I have not seen Bridget!!

That is great! Hopefully a R1 company will bring this set to our shores. In the meantime I am very interested in this set and as soon as I gather enough information about it I will be greasing the wheels of the German economy!

Under ECOUTER/VOIR on the right you can see the picture of the box (jacquette) and pictures of the menus.

Man, I have a feeling some is going to laugh at me for this one, but I'll ask anyhow. lol

There are no English sub's on the French set, and from what little I know about these films I assume they are non english. What does V.O. : Anglais mean? I saw that on the Arte Boutique link. That's not "dubbed" or "Voice Over" is it? Sorry, for one reason or another I don't recall seeing "V.O." before for DVD spec's, or I just didn't pay attention!

I don't think anyone should laugh at you...you are not required to know everything. VO-version originale....

And I really like the box too....

There are no reason to laugh at you, my knowledge in English is just good enough to understand the english subs of my asian movies. When you look at this forum, it's full of open minded people interested in movies from everywhere.

As Pro-bassonist said VO is for Version Originale meaning original audio. The french word for subtitle is sous-titre and jaquette (without c, sorry for the misspelling) means cover exactly.
