Steamboy R4 - pic problems?
Anyone have the R4 Steamboy? I thought when watching the movie it seemed very muted in terms of colour, and dark scenes very extremely dark, very difficult to make out the detail.
Then I watched the making of on disc 2 and the clips from the movie seemed vastly superior, colours were rich and the detail in dark scenes was much better.
Anyone else noticed this?

i have the disc. however, although the dark seens are very dark, as far as i remember the disc is superbit encoded and i watched it prog-scan... i do think theres the chance the scenes in the film are intended to be that dark and that maybe the clips, when used in the extras (which i have also watched) may have been adjusted in order to broadcast it on tv, or are the result of some technical difference in the source and so on... i've read no other issues with the disc online, but yes i admit the picture does look dark... remember, if you prefer, you could adjust the picture on your tv and raise the brightness slightly?

i dont think it should be read as a disc problem : its a perception issue... this is a spuerbit encoded disc thats very well put together. unfortunately, the few weeks it had over the R1 are over so most people will plump for that disc now...
