Trust (Hal Hartley)

For other fans of the film besides myself I don't think this had been brought to DVDTalk. For the first time Hal Hartley's magnificient film and perhaps my favorite film ever Trust is making its arrival on DVD with a director supervised and approved DVD. After receiving a reply from the company asking of its specific release date they let me know it will be released on August 31st (by Aztec International Entertainment).

I would be interested in reading your comments on the picture quality if you pick up the disc as I don't have much faith in this company. The recent release of Happenstance is a duff.

Yes, Yes, Yes! Now if anyone will ever release Whit Stillman's Metropolitan (You know if there is another region release of this I am going to feel really stupid, but if there is, please pipe in).

I got the information finally.
Trust will be released in France by Diaphana in 2006. It will be part of a box set with a couple of other Hal Hartley movies (but I couldn't find out which ones).

Bumping this as apparently it has arrived in the mail but I am not going to be able to get to it until Friday. If anyone else got it since it has been out awhile now and wants to comment then I figured it was worth the bump. I got it added to DVDAF for all you other Hartley fans out there.

I have the R4 disc of "Trust" and I am very pleased with it. It's anamorphic, and looks to be in an aspect ratio of about 1.66:1 (which I am sure is correct given most Hartley movies are in that ratio), and it looks very good... a bit grainy but I imagine that's the way it was filmed (perhaps on 16mm?). There's also some nice extras on there as well. I imagine you won't be disappointed with it. Now we just need to get a release in R1 to get this fantastic film into a bigger audience!

I ordered it from this seller off eBay, good communication, fast shipping, and in the US (New Jersey). Not so cheap at around $30 but it is a bit easier then if you wanted to deal with ezydvd and Australia. I believe it is even a bit cheaper when it all works out in comparison to ezydvd.

I ordered mine from this site>

www.fbo.com.au

With shipping and all it came to about $24 Canadian. They do take off the tax if you are an international customer. It took about a week or so to get here.
